Phoenix 67-0published at 61 balls left
It's all going Birmingham's way now. Hannah Baker bowls one at chest height which Verma slaps for three. It's called a no-ball and the subsequent three hit is crashed for four by Eve Jones
Phoenix record first 10-wicket win of The Hundred to avoid early elimination
Verma hits 76 off 42 in thrilling run-chase; Eve Jones makes 52 off 35

Target 128
Verma has 44 from 20 balls now. This is her highest score of the tournament so far.
Katie George has already pulled off one of these catches in The Hundred. She tries again, Verma the batter in danger, but can't get there.
That's 25 balls bowled.
The DLS formula, used to decide a game that is rained off, is now in play. The Phoenix are way ahead of the score they need to at this stage. If it rains now and we get no further play, Phoenix win.

This little knock from Shafali Verma has pushed Birmingham Phoenix ahead of where they need to be if Duckworth-Lewis-Stern comes into play at all.
Finally, Shafali Verma has arrived at The Hundred...
Six! There's no stopping Shafali Verma right now. She's beaming, absolutely loving this.

If I was captaining Welsh Fire I'd get the leg-spin of Nicole Harvey into the attack soon. It's a risk but you need to take a chance against Shafali Verma who is playing with the field at the moment. Fire don't have a huge amount of variety in their attack, they need to mix it up, and they have someone who can take it away from a batter like Shafali Verma.
This is what we have waited the whole tournament for from Verma. Hayley Matthews is being whacked to all parts.
Drizzle is falling...
Shafali Verma! With a flick of wrists she adds four more. Brilliant batting.

If you are stood at mid-on or mid-off to Shafali Verma you know you have to be hot in the field. I think it's about executing that slower ball and then hope you get a chance.
Need 96 runs to win from 80 balls
I really want to see Welsh Fire's Piepa Cleary bowling to her partner Amy Jones later. Great drama.
Cleary is bowling now and Verma has just clobbered her for another lovely four.
Need 103 runs from 85 balls
There are some dark clouds looming above the ground. Once 25 balls have been bowled we'll have a result either way, using Duckworth-Lewis-Stern if necessary.

If Birmingham Phoenix lose today it's pretty much over for them. If Welsh Fire win they will still have a lot to do to make the eliminators.
Brilliant on the rope from Katie George who leaps to catch a ball that is flying for six before tossing it back into the outfield - preventing the boundary as she does.
She has her hands on her head, thinking she could have somehow held on to dismiss Verma, but I'd say that is just very good fielding.

It's got a little cooler here. There's a chilly breeze blowing across the ground. I can see rain in the distance but hopefully, we avoid it.
Need 111 more runs to win
I haven't even mentioned Eve Jones after those Verma fireworks in the opening few deliveries. The Phoenix left-hander makes an impressive start herself, easing the ball between two fielders for four.
The Phoenix must win this game to stay in contention and they've made a good start to their chase.
Target 128
Another big swing from Verma and this time it's four. She has hardly scored a run in this tournament but 30 minutes of Verma here and the game could be over.

Shafali Verma has only got one method and that's to be aggressive. She'll look to be that way from ball one. It's interesting to go with spin against her first up, as she tends to be even more aggressive against spin.
