England have lost three wickets in 32 balls. They were 230-2, now 244-5. We've seen turn, we've had reviews, we've had wickets - it's all happening now!

    Knight lbw b Sharma 95 (Eng 244-5)

Umpire's call, clipping the off stump and the England captain walks back to the dressing room just five short of a Test century.

India have come back strong in this evening session.

  3. England reviewpublished at 78.1 overs

    Eng 244-5

Oh no! Knight is hit on the pads by Sharma, there's an lbw shout and it's given out.

Knight goes for the review. It looked tight but out to me.

I'd like to see the zinger boundaries that light up when the ball hits it, like with the bails in T20s. Dragons' Den anyone?

  5. Eng 244-4published at 78 overs

Heather Knight pushes to mid-off, there's a shy at the stumps but Knight was easily home.

Sophia Dunkley has her first run in Test cricket, clipping Rana off the pads before Knight then edges between wicketkeeper and slip and down to the third-man boundary for three.

Knight, on 95, is one shot away from her century.

Heather Knight won't be thinking about her century here, she will be wanting to play the role of captain and help ease Dunkley into her maiden innings and settle those debut nerves.

Just the one Heather Knight single from Rana's over.

So a bit about Dunkley, she's batted five times in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy since its first edition last year and has passed 90 on three occasions.

She has also taken three wickets at an average of 20 with her leg-spin.

What a moment for Sophia Dunkley to come in for her first Test innings. A challenging time just after those two quick wickets, and probably not the position she was expecting to be coming in just a few overs ago.

Dunkley competently defends her first delivery back towards Rana, but the India fielders are in full voice now.

Heather Knight still there on 88.

In comes the debutant Sophia Dunkley at number six for England. What a moment for the 22-year-old from Surrey.

Two big breakthroughs for India here. There will be some batters up in the changing rooms getting their pads on who were getting very used to having their feet up.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 75.3 overs

    Jones lbw b Rana 1 (Eng 236-4)

Good decision from the umpire as Amy Jones' short-lived stay in the middle comes to an end.

India chipping away, two or three more wickets before the close of play and they'll be happy with how the day has panned out.

  13. Umpire reviewpublished at 75.3 overs

    Eng 236-4

Has Rana got another? Jones is hit on the pads and it's given out. Only height can save her, I think.

  14. Eng 235-3published at 75 overs

    Knight 87, Jones 1

Knight sweeps for a single, Jones is off the mark by working Sharma off the pads.

I've just seen this from Paul Collingwood. Absolutely remarkable. I’m desperately thinking of a couch based pun but haven’t been able to think of one sofa.

It's Heather Knight on strike after that wicket came on the final ball of the previous over.

A single to Knight off Rana brings Jones on strike who defends with ease. India have been made to work hard throughout the day, but they're still going.

Amy Jones is the new batter in. She's in some form in this season's Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy... 282 runs from three innings, including two centuries.

That's an interesting review, it's like she thought she hit it, but it landed right on her toe. She hit the ground with her bat and that's where she might have thought she got a bit of the ball.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 72.6 overs

    Sciver lbw b Sharma 42 (Eng 230-3)

Nope, the sound may have been bat hitting the ground. Umpire's decision stays, Sharma strikes and India have their third wicket of the day.
