England stand-in captain Nat Sciver on BBC Two: "I've had a good time so far. Tammy was brilliant, that partnership with Amy was really important. We're looking to be aggressive and push the scores up. Managing to get Devine and Bates early was brilliant. We're in a good place at the minute. Tammy's been looking for that big score over the summer, so we're all really happy for her.

"It's a luxury to have three top-class spinners, but Katherine at the top and coming back in the middle was important too. We'll check in with Heather tomorrow, she barely misses a training session but she'll be aiming to be back in Brighton."

If New Zealand had taken those catches tonight, it might have shifted the momentum a little, but they are reliant on the top three in their order. I think we'll see a stronger team in the next T20.

New Zealand captain Sophie Devine on BBC Two: "That was our first proper cricket match for close to six months, credit to England but we had some encouraging signs, We figured out that myself, Suzie Bates and Amy Satterthwaite hadn't played together for about 18 months so if Suzie and I can get some runs and Amy can keep doing what she's doing, the young players are stepping up and we've got a massive 12-18 months with a home World Cup. England are one of the benchmark sides of international cricket, this tour is part of our journey to the World Cup and the Commonwealth Games which isn't far behind."

When Tash first played for England she was often fielding at fine leg, but she has really worked on her fielding and there she was at cow corner, taking a great catch.

Tash is just a girl who likes proving people wrong, and she's been doing that all summer.

England seamer Tash Farrant on BBC Two: "My last home game was about three years ago so it was great to get out there, I really enjoyed it tonight. I always felt I had 'unfinished business', you can't control selection but I'm thrilled to get this opportunity and take it with both hands. It was a crazy couple of days [winning The Hundred] but playing for England is a special feeling. The catch was quite hard, I've not fielded under lights for a while and I'm just glad that one stuck. I'm going to keep enjoying my cricket."

New Zealand are heavily reliant on that top three, the experienced players with Suzie Bates coming back from injury. But England bowled a lot of dot balls tonight, a brilliant performance all round.

What I like about Tammy is she'll often start at 110-120 strike rate, but then she'll get going and clear the boundaries.

England batter Tammy Beaumont on BBC Two: "We knew New Zealand were going to come hard at us in the powerplay, but we needed to stick to our strengths and continue it through. Danni Wyatt's brilliant against off-spin, so it was my job just to get her on strike early on, it wasn't a pre-determined plan to get after Kasperek but it was just what worked on the night.

"I've been under pressure for my [opening] spot and wanted to put in a good performance. You look at a player like Emma Lamb coming through, who's scored a lot of runs - you have to continually improve or someone younger and more talented will come through and take your spot."

But there was one standout performer at Chelmsford.

With 97 runs from 65 balls, England opener Tammy Beaumont stole the show...

New Zealand haven't played cricket since April and it showed. Amy Satterthwaite was brilliant to watch, the way she swept against the spinners - New Zealand were under the pump and she gave them just a glimmer of hope, but nobody gave her the strike. She put up a great fight.

A real team effort from England's bowling attack as Brunt, Ecclestone and Glenn take two wickets each, with a wicket apiece for Farrant, Sciver and Villiers.

A fitting end, Amy Jones was very smart behind the stumps. England were brilliant with the ball, Farrant and Brunt set the tone, the New Zealanders weren't quite up to pace with their first competitive game since April.

Kasperek st Jones b Ecclestone 0 (NZ 138 all out)

And that's that! Leigh Kasperek falls in a similar way to many of her team-mates - coming down the wicket and missing the ball. This time it doesn't clatter into the stumps but Amy Jones whips off the bails.

England beat New Zealand by 46 runs. A real one-sided victory.

Brilliant bit of work from the captain - when you throw from your knees, you don't have the leverage, but good work from Amy Jones too. One more wicket to go now.

Newton is gone! It was a brilliant piece from Nat Sciver at extra cover. She was on her knees still as she threw the ball in!

Can New Zealand survive two more overs?

New Zealand take a second run, fielder Nat Sciver hurls it in and 'keeper Jones does the rest. I think this is out.
