  1. Eng 69-3published at 10 overs

Just got a shout out from the TMS team - you are too kind.

Anyway, back to the action and Amy Satterthwaite is into the attack - Heather Knight grimaces when she tries to capitalises on the loose ball but can only pick out the short fine leg fielder.

Knight then scrambles a two to complete the over with a sweep that edges over the wicketkeeper's head.

That is a really good bit of umpiring from Sue Redfern.

It looked like it couldn't be anything else, but you could tell on the replay it was the pad.

  4. Not outpublished at 20:46 British Summer Time 9 September 2021

Replays show it clipped part of the pad on the way through, excellent decision by umpire Sue Redfern.

Katey Martin is convinced that this is out, and Sophie Devine went upstairs pretty quickly as a result of that.

  6. Umpire reviewpublished at 20:46 British Summer Time 9 September 2021

Katey Martin thinks she has Heather Knight caught behind.

Nothing given - but it's sent upstairs.

  7. Eng 65-3published at 8.3 overs

    Oh dear.

Amy Jones gets four but looks a little sheepish as it's a howler from Thamsyn Newton at deep square leg, who lets the ball disappear through her legs and over the boundary.

  8. 'Devine intervention'published at 20:43 British Summer Time 9 September 2021

This is how New Zealand kicked things off by removing England opener Tammy Beaumont.

Nat Sciver's dismissal was soft, and Danni Wyatt could have literally hit that ball anywhere, so it is another soft dismissal.

The game has turned on its head, and if New Zealand can get one of these two out they are in charge.

  10. Eng 57-3published at 8 overs

That will make England feel a bit better.

Hayley Jensen strays from her line during the over as Amy Jones and captain Heather Knight share a boundary a piece.

Jones wraps up the over with a beautiful cover drive that only picks out the fielder. Great shot for one run.

The field had spread and there was an opportunity for a low-risk cricket, but Nat Sciver saw the gap and her eyes lit up.

Before all that carnage, this is how Danni Wyatt scored the first six of the match.

I have counted two full tosses in this game so far, and neither has taken a wicket yet. If Alex Hartley's stat is right the next full toss will result in a wicket.

  14. Eng 45-3published at 7 overs

Well, that is a prime example of how quickly things can change.

Two fresh batters at the crease and New Zealand have their tails up.

Full tosses do get wickets, but it is probably not the ball that you want to bowl for your hat-trick ball.

  17. Eng 43-3published at 6.3 overs

Amy Jones faces - and survives, pushing it away for a single.

    Hat-trick ball coming up...

Danni Wyatt can't quite believe it. She could have hit that ball anywhere she wanted.

That is the worst possible thing that could have happened for England.

It was an injudicious shot from Nat Sciver. That will frustrate England - the field was out there waiting.
