Sciver c Jensen b Kasperek 3 (Eng 42-2)
The vice-captain goes!
Sciver looks to loft it into the onside but can only skew it straight to Hayley Jensen.

England will be quite happy with the powerplay. New Zealand bowled three tight overs, but three expensive overs.
It is just the start that England would have been after. Danni Wyatt is going nicely, and New Zealand will know they are in with a shout if they get her, especially with Heather Knight not having played much cricket in the last few weeks.
And that's the powerplay - 13 from it for England and I think they will be very satisfied with that start.
Danni Wyatt in particular is looking in good touch.

Jess Kerr needs a little bit protection on the leg side if she was going to bowl straight.
Final over of the powerplay then and it's three boundaries in a row!
Danni Wyatt sweeps the ball into a huge gap in the onside for four. Next up she plays an uppish but safe cover drive four another boundary. The hat-trick is completed with a fine edge down towards third man.

That over was important in the context of the powerplay and the game. Sophie Devine mixed her length and pace up and kept England guessing.
England will be looking to take eight or 10 runs off this final over of the powerplay.

At the halfway point I didn't know what to think of the 144, but I thought the powerplay would be crucial and England haven't got off to a quick start. New Zealand have bowled well.
A great over from Sophie Devine, who bowls a little bit of everything to bamboozle Danni Wyatt. Just the one run off it.
Drags things back in New Zealand's favour after that expensive fourth over.
That's a smart take from Katey Martin. Odd shot from Danni Wyatt as she looks to pull but under-edges it and Martin claims diving to her left.

I would quite like to see Jess Kerr have the deep fine leg in front of square and that probably makes that shot a two rather than a four.
Back-to-back fours - but this one is much more impressive.
It's too short from Jess Kerr and Danni Wyatt is on it in a flash, pulling the ball through mid-wicket for four.
Let-off for Danni Wyatt as she dances down the track but can only get the toe-end of the bat on the ball and it narrowly misses her own stumps before disappearing off down to the boundary.
She got away with one there.

You could see what Tammy Beaumont was trying to do, but she just didn't time it and it was an easy catch.
Beaumont c Devine b Kerr 3 (Eng 16-1)
Breakthrough!
Tammy Beaumont wanted to get in on the action as well but is cramped for room as she dances down the track and can only pick out Sophie Devine at mid-wicket.

These are quite big boundaries. I am looking out at how much further they could go back, and it is only three or four yards. They are deep.
That livened things up a bit...

That is a very strong area for Danni Wyatt.
Here we go!
Danni Wyatt skips down the track and blasts the ball over long-off for the first six of the innings.

That is a lovely crisp shot! It made a lovely noise off the bat.
