England captain and Player of the Match Heather Knight on Sky Sports: "I was so frustrated when I got out, I really wanted to be there at the end and see it out. The batting hasn't quite been clicking so I was desperate to be ruthless and finish the game off, but I'm really pleased to get the win and we needed that after a tough couple of games.

"My conversion rate is pretty rubbish so I'm really pleased to get the hundred, it feels like a long time coming! It wasn't an easy wicket and they bowled really well.

"The next ODI is our last before the Ashes and the World Cup so it's a big game for us.

"Danni Wyatt completely took the pressure off me, the way she came in and scored boundaries meant I didn't have to take too many risks. She's really thrown her name in the hat for that spot at seven, and she's worked so hard since losing that opening spot."

Some fine individual performances from Katey Martin (65*) and Hannah Rowe (4-47) made it tough work for England...

New Zealand captain Sophie Devine on Sky Sports: "It was an outstanding game of cricket, and credit has to go to Heather. She anchored that innings and showed what a class player she is.

"We took it right to the end but it wasn't to be for us. We've got to lick our wounds but we'll learn a lot from this. I'm so proud of the girls and the efforts they put in today.

"We're starting to show our resilience that we've built as a side, not just in this series but the work we've done back at home too. Brooke Halliday and Katey Martin were outstanding today and that's just glimpses of what this side can do.

"We've worked so hard for it. Unfortunately we're not getting the results we want from it but we pushed the world champions that close today, and throughout this series, we are going to keep pushing for that last game."

While Knight will deservedly get all the plaudits, there were some important contributions from Lauren Winfield-Hill (33), Amy Jones (40) and Danni Wyatt (27).

England bowler Anya Shrubsole on Sky Sports: "You never quite want it to end like that, but we've won it. We both had a bit of a panic when she was stumped before we realised it was a wide!

"But what a fantastic innings from Heather though, to get us over the line. She looked like she was batting on another pitch to everyone else.

"I'd have preferred not to have to bat and Heather would love to be coming off unbeaten at the end, so I was just there to steal the glory really!

"It's really nice just to be back out on the park. I feel lucky to be back playing, it's nice to get a few wickets but most importantly to get the win."

England will be delighted that their middle order have got them over the line here. It probably didn't need to be that nervy at the end, and Heather Knight would've loved to have been there to see them home.
