  1. Eng 159-3published at 34 overs

    Need 86 from 96 balls

Heather Knight loves the reverse sweep! And she plays it brilliantly, striking it perfectly for four off Sattherwaite.

There are some worried looking faces in the New Zealand field. They need a wicket.

  2. Not outpublished at 33 overs

    Eng 153-3

Bat is grounded and Amy Jones survives. As we were.

    Eng 151-3

Has Amy Jones been run out? Knight clips to the leg side boundary and they look for two. There's a slight hesitation as Jones runs to the bowler's end. The throw comes in and Devine whips off the bails.

    It's going to be tight!

A fine knock from the England captain, she's got her side back on track. And a delicious shot to get there too.

  6. 50 runs

50 for Knightpublished at 32.5 overs

    Target 245

Yuck! Sophie Devine bowls a slower ball which slips out of her hand and above waist height.

England are given a free hit. Devine goes short... too short... and it's a wide.

The free hit carries over to the next delivery which Heather Knight sends crashing to the backward square leg boundary for four.

Make that back-to-back fours as Knight, with delicate hands, guides it down to third for four to bring up her fifty. A captain's knock!

Definitely, and they'll know that. They'll be disappointed with the manner of some of the dismissals too, there have been too many soft wickets in there.

If you're going to be critical about England this summer, it's got to be that the batters haven't dominated. When you look at Australia and the performance they put in against India just a few days ago, only three batters were needed but they all kicked on to get scores.

    Eng 138-3published at 32 overs

Need 107 runs from 18 overs

Amy Satterthwaite hasn't quite got her length right today as England easily pick up another four singles.

Time for drinks. At what point do the hosts pick up the pace?

Amy Jones has looked good all summer, her talent is never in question. It's just a matter of putting a performance together and she needs to go on here.

  13. Eng 134-3published at 31 overs

    Target 245

The natural sunlight is starting to be overtaken by the rays from the floodlights. A bit cold but a beautiful evening in Derby.

With the field spread out, Knight and Jones pick up three singles off Devine's over. Batting looks pretty easy right now.

These two look very much in control. They've just rotated the strike and waited for the bad ball, although there were a few aerial shots that had our hearts in our mouths.

  15. Eng 131-3published at 30 overs

    Target 245

Smiles and fist bumps from this England pair as Heather Knight leans forward and clips Satterthwate up and over mid-on for a boundary.

England take a few singles and are then gifted one more as Satthethwaite misfields off her own bowling.

  16. Eng 124-3published at 29 overs

    Knight 31, Jones 25

Sophie Devine bowls a delivery which is so far down the leg side it should be called a double wide, if such a thing existed.

Knight flicks down to long-on to bring up the fifty partnership between her and Jones. What an important stand this could prove to be.

But it almost comes to an end as Jones miscues a drive which evades the fielders on the off side.

The floodlights are on and England need 121 runs from 126 balls.

Amy Jones did well to get some bat on that, it turned sharply off the pitch. That turn will just plant a bit of doubt in the batter's mind.

  18. Eng 118-3published at 28 overs

Amy Jones middles Sattherwaite through mid-wicket but it goes straight to the fielder in the deep.

Jones is then on the back foot as she just about manages to get her bat down in time to one which turns sharply towards off stump, before a top edge sends the ball ballooning up and into no man's land.

    Eventful over.

  19. Eng 114-3published at 27 overs

    Knight 26, Jones 22

Jess Kerr continues. A leading edge off Jones' bat sends the ball squirting out to point.

The England batter drives through cover for a single to reach 22, her highest score of the series so far.
