Jensen ct Shrubsole b Knight 19 (NZ 113-7)

Heather Knight is into the attack - and gets a wicket!

Her first ball is smoked for four but Jensen sweeps the second delivery straight to Anya Shrubsole at short fine leg for a regulation catch.

  2. NZ 109-6published at 26 overs

Dropped! Nat Sciver spills on the deep fine leg boundary - That's Sciver's second drop of the innings.

The next ball Brooke Halliday nearly clips the ball to mid-on but it drops just short.

    Chaos.

    Thanks Ffion.

This has been quite the performance from England. A fantastic way to end the summer.

  4. NZ 107-6published at 25 overs

    Target 348

Four more to Hayley Jensen, this time crashing Kate Cross through the covers.

Not that England need to worry about the runs at all.

Anyway, we're halfway through this innings and that means my international summer has come to an end! It's been a fun one, but here's Tom Mallows to take you through to the end.

Chris Ward: Can you tell England to ease up please? Not ready to say goodbye to the English summer yet.

  7. NZ 100-6published at 24 overs

    Target 348

New batter Hayley Jensen is not in the mood for blocking. She charges at Sophie Ecclestone twice in the over and thumps the ball back over her head for four on both occasions.

For so long Kate Cross has been in and out of the side. She is first-change bowler so it's a precarious position anyway, but she has bowled superbly today.

  9. NZ 91-6published at 23 overs

    Target 348

Kate Cross now has figures of 3-37 from her seven overs. She's gone under the radar a bit this summer but she's had an incredible year and remains England's leading wicket taker in ODIs since 2019.

  10. wicket

    Martin b Cross 5 (NZ 90-6)

The 'have a go' approach doesn't quite work for Katey Martin.

It's in the slot and Martin goes for a big swing but completely loses her shape and loses her off stump.

It's an opportunity for Brooke Halliday, she perhaps hasn't had the series she wanted but there's nothing to lose here. It's a good pitch, have a go.

  12. NZ 90-5published at 22.2 overs

Brooke Halliday thumps Kate Cross for another boundary, a bit of a slog over the leg side but perhaps that's the best way for her to go.

It's been all England since ball one this morning. Apart from this moment, that thankfully didn't cost England too much.

  14. NZ 85-5published at 22 overs

    Target 348

How has that missed?! Brooke Halliday goes for a big swipe at Ecclestone, gets some awkward bounce for the batter to negotiate and it somehow sneaks past bat, stumps and Amy Jones' gloves.

How different might England's scorecard look had New Zealand picked their genuine spinner?

Sorry I was just a bit distracted there. I've just sat down on this chair and have the slight suspicion I might have broken it.

  16. NZ 82-5published at 21 overs

    Target 348

A matter of just occupying the crease now for Martin and Halliday, and finishing the series at least with their pride intact and not being rolled over.

  17. NZ 80-5published at 20.1 overs

    Target 348

Four more, this time to Katey Martin who cuts past point for four.

Anya Shrubsole gives up on the case from deep third, and Kate Cross doesn't look happy because she definitely could've made a bit more of an attempt to get there.

Sophie Ecclestone is furious with herself, a full toss that Brooke Halliday was able to smash down the ground for four.

  19. NZ 76-5published at 20 overs

    Target 348

Ecclestone tosses one up to tempt Brooke Halliday, who accepts in thumping it down the ground for four runs.

    Sophie Ecclestone continues.

She has figures of 2-15 from the five overs she's bowled so far.
