Target 348
The frustration tells on Lauren Down, who slogs Nat Sciver for four over midwicket. It's not a convincing shot but after several plays and misses in the over, it may be the best way for her to go.

Clinical from England.
When you're chasing 348 from 50 overs, one thing that would be helpful is scoring boundaries.
New Zealand are yet to get one of those.

Suzie Bates took an age to get up there. If the throw had hit, she'd have been out of her crease by quite a way.
What England did so well in their powerplay was to hit the bad ball, but they have a world-class bowling attack so the bad balls are fewer. New Zealand need to turn the good balls into singles, that's why they're so frantic.
Close! More frantic running from the openers nearly results in carnage as Suzie Bates has to dive full length to avoid being run out.
She waits on her knees for an age, head down as if she's giving herself an internal telling off.
England have started exactly how you'd imagine a team defending 348 would: full of energy and confidence.

Bates has played that shot incredibly well twice - and picked out the long-leg fielder both times. You can sense she's desperate to score runs in this series as she's been coming down the track and moving her feet, almost frantic to score runs and rotate the strike.
Target 348
It's all a bit frantic out there for New Zealand. Suzie Bates is charging at the bowlers and backing up quite a long way to try and take quick singles that aren't there.
Tammy Beaumont is quite good, isn't she?

Just enough away-swing from Nat Sciver there, maybe a bit of movement off the pitch too.
Target 348
Lauren Down edges Nat Sciver's first ball, but she plays it softly and the ball goes into the ground.
A rather uneventful over as the opening batters just take a bit of time to assess Sciver's bowling and the pitch.

I've had a bit of a disaster. I ran round to the burger van to get our lunch, there was a massive queue and I pushed to the front. I saw umpire Sue Redfern on the boundary line, she says to me "you're always eating!". But I have to feed myself!
A solid start from both sides. There's some swing there for Anya Shrubsole but New Zealand need to make the most of this powerplay, which won't be easy.

New Zealand have got to build partnerships, but they've got to be aggressive from the off. So much will depend on their "big three" - Suzie Bates, Amy Satterthwaite and Sophie Devine.
Thanks, Tom.
Well, I would actually love New Zealand to give this chase a real good go. We haven't seen Suzie Bates or Sophie Devine's true batting ability yet. But it's a pretty imposing total (to say the least) and England should defend it comfortably.
Anya Shrubsole has the new ball for England, we're ready to go.
As the players take to the field it's time for me to take a quick break.
Luckily I can leave you in the capable hands of Ffion Wynne.

Mark Puttick: Tammy Beaumont has the most runs against an opponent for England in a calendar year in WODIs & is third overall:

Erling L: Very impressive work by the England batters today especially Tammy Beaumont. 347 should be pretty easy for the England bowlers to defend, I can't really see New Zeleand scoring 348, so this should be a home victory! Well done England.
Southern Vipers made it back-to-back Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy title wins yesterday, after the inaugural regional 50-over champions from 2020 successfully defended their title against Northern Diamonds at Northampton.
Ami Campbell top-scored with 60 as the Diamonds were bowled out for 183 in the last over of the innings, while Vipers skipper Georgia Adams' part-time bowling captured 4-35.
Although Adams and opening partner Ella McCaughan fell for ducks as the Vipers slumped to 109-7, TMS commentator Emily Windsor (47*), who hit the winning runs with two balls to spare, enjoyed an unbroken eighth-wicket stand of 78 with number nine Tara Norris (40* from 44 balls) and meant it was another title for the Charlotte Edwards-coached Vipers.
England set a platform and Danny Wyatt took advantage, with some fearsome hitting in the final few overs - with this massive six among them.
England timed their acceleration perfectly, with 96 scored in the final 10 overs.
