  1. NZ 44-2published at 13 overs

    Target 348

Maddy Green gets a lucky boundary from a thick inside edge, the ball just keeping a little low and nutmegging Amy Jones behind the stumps.

England are in such a dominant position that Kate Cross is able to laugh at being hit for four.

The pitch is starting to turn now, which is making the New Zealand team selection look absolutely clueless.

That was very lucky, but a good length from Ecclestone drawing Satterthwaite into the drive.

  4. NZ 39-2published at 12 overs

    Target 348

A loose shot from Amy Satterthwaite comes off the inside edge and just squirts past the stumps!

Ecclestone is well up for this battle, which is a dangerous sign for New Zealand's batters.

Sweeping Sophie Ecclestone, that is always a dangerous art.

To me that's pressure and seeking runs where they are not, resulting in a regulation wicket for the likes of Ecclestone.

    Down b Ecclestone 27 (NZ 38-2)

    Ecclestone strikes!

Lauren Down makes her highest score of the series but it's not enough. The pressure gets too much and she risks a slog sweep to the spinner that doesn't work.

She misses, Ecclestone hits. New Zealand were in trouble already, that doesn't help things.

  7. NZ 38-1published at 11 overs

    Target 348

A double change for England as Kate Cross comes on for a bowl.

She offers some width from her second ball and it's gratefully thrashed by Lauren Down through the covers. They'll need a few more of those.

    Actually, they need loads more.

New Zealand are going at three- an over and they need to be going at sevens.

It's looking difficult even at this early stage.

  9. NZ 33-1published at 10 overs

    Target 348

Sophie Ecclestone is introduced to the attack early. She's played every single game for England this summer. Her shoulder is going to be grateful for some rest, I'd imagine.

Lauren Down and Maddy Green are happy to play tap-and-run cricket at the moment, scampering plenty of singles from dabs into the off side.

End of the powerplay and England very much in control.

That shows the pressure New Zealand are under - they need another 320 to win, there's miscommunication and poor shot selection out there.

  11. NZ 30-1published at 9 overs

    Target 348

Another risky single almost sees Green run out, another sign of the pressure that's building.

It's been a very frantic start, but I guess that's going to happen when you're chasing 348.

  12. NZ 28-1published at 8 overs

    Target 348

Maddy Green gets off the mark with a single.

England are all over this at the moment.

I'd have liked to have seen New Zealand send Amy Satterthwaite out at three to help pace the innings.

  14. NZ 26-1published at 7 overs

    Target 348

Maddy Green is the new batter for New Zealand. She's not their quickest run-scorer, so if she drops anchor, Lauren Down may have to up the scoring rate around her.

Meanwhile on Test Match Special, Melissa Story has outed Alex Hartley for not eating her gherkins in a burger. Which is, quite frankly, a shocker - but one that often splits opinion, I guess.

  15. ouch!

I once had to do throw-downs for Suzie Bates and she hit the ball so hard into my shins that I nearly couldn't walk for 15 minutes.

Suzie Bates' poor form continues - it was a poor shot, the ball was too full and Tammy Beaumont just managed to hang onto it, it was caught between her arms and her chest.

    Bates c Beaumont b Shrubsole 6 (NZ 25-1)

The pressure tells on Suzie Bates and her series ends in disappointment.

She goes for a wild swipe and the ball just loops straight up in the air for Tammy Beaumont to catch at point. It's one of those catches that look so easy but they're often the hardest, hanging in the air under a grey sky, so she does well to hang on.

What a bit of fielding from Katherine Brunt, a one-handed stop as she walks round the boundary! I'm almost more impressed by that than I am by the shot!

  19. NZ 23-0published at 6.2 overs

Same again from Lauren Down, this time off Shrubsole and with much more conviction.

Full, in the slot and Down crunches it for a straight four. Katherine Brunt, sporting the yellow bib of the drinks carrier, pulls off some stunning fielding outside the boundary.

New Zealand have shown there that you can find the boundaries if you take the risk.
