  1. 6 runs

    WI 53-0published at 5.1 overs

Kyle Mayers and Brandon King have both got their eye in now. West Indies off to a great start here, going at just over 10 an over.

Now stand-in skipper Moeen Ali is biffed straight down the ground, over long on, by Brandon King. As easy as you like for the West Indies opener.

  2. 6 runs

    WI 47-0published at 4.3 overs

Too short and predictable from Chris Jordan, who digs one into the pitch and Kyle Mayers rocks on the back foot and once again pulls it the boundary for four.

Two balls later and Mayers, that flamingo-esque front leg in the air, is given another delivery to his liking. It's a maximum this time.

England's attacking making it far too easy for West Indies here.

That is another fantastic over from Moeen Ali. To think, he wasn't even in England's T20 side against India a year go. How?

Mark Burt: That was a regulation stumping. Can’t afford too many mistakes against this WI team.

  5. WI 33-0published at 4.0 overs

One back from England as just two runs picked up from that Moeen Ali over. Will they rue that missed stumping chance, though?

Chris Jordan next up for England.

Initial impressions are there are runs in this pitch, even though it's used. At the moment the ball is coming on OK.

  7. Missed stumpingpublished at 3.2 overs

Sharp turn and bounce from Moeen Ali deceives Brandon King, who advances down the track and plays a big heave. He misses it but Sam Billings fumbles the ball and misses out with King well short of his ground.

  8. WI 31-0published at 3.0 overs

Reece Topley is clubbed to mid-wicket by Brandon King and West Indies manage to take a run a ball off the remainder of the over.

Moeen Ali set to bring himself into the attack. Spin was crucial last night.

  9. How's stat?!published at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2022

The West Indies have scored an average of 138 runs per innings when batting first in men’s T20Is since the beginning of 2021, the second-lowest average of any full Test member nation in that time ahead only of Bangladesh (126 runs per innings).

  10. 6 runs

    WI 22-0published at 2.0 overs

Lots of flair about this shot from Kyle Mayers as he rocks back on this heels and pulls Saqib Mahmood for a six over square leg. More than a hint of Desmond Haynes about that shot as he lifts his front leg while playing the shot.

A couple of balls later and an equally sumptuous pull brings him four more. A tough start for Mahmood.

Judith: Nice to see Mahmood get a chance. Mills has been very disappointing. C'mon England.

  12. 6 runs

    WI 10-0published at 1.1 overs

Saqid Mahmood, back into the side today, sees his first ball disappear right back over his head for six. That was a very premeditated biff from Brandon King, advancing down the pitch and throwing his hands at it. Not timed perfectly but enough power.

  13. ouch!

    WI 1-0published at 0.4 overs

A good disciplined start from Reece Topley - three dots to start with. Fourth ball of the over Brandon King cracks one back straight back, strikes the England man on his shin and West Indies pick up a single from the deflection.

It looked like it hurt, but Topley is back on his feet to complete the over.

Left-arm paceman Reece Topley has ball in hand and is ready to get things going at the Kensington Oval. Kyle Mayers and Brandon King to open for West Indies.

England's bowlers will, of course, have to contend with a West Indies team capable of clearing the boundary with ease.

West Indies have hit an average of 8.7 sixes per innings in men’s T20Is since the beginning of 2021, the best of any full Test member.

Liam Livingstone, speaking to BT Sport, explains why he missed the early games in the series.

He said: "I didn't eat for nine days at the beginning of the tour which is why I didn't play because of esophagitis so I was low on energy. It's nice to be back now. Thankfully I can get through the games.

"Yesterday was a big win and the boys are excited. We've enjoyed the tour and hope we can get the win. I've never played in the West Indies before so it's nice to get out here and especially with so many fans."

On his bowling: "It is a challenge for me, and it was my way back into this team. I wouldn't have got back in just with the batting. I have worked hard on it over the last few years and it's starting to pay off."

The weather forecast looks pretty good for the match. Slight chance of rain, but nothing that should dramatically affect proceedings.

A reminder that Eoin Morgan is absent again with a quad injury so Moeen Ali will be England's stand-in skipper again this evening.

Moeen was superb in all three disciplines last night in England's 34-run win which set up this decider.

He smashed a brutal 63 from 28 balls, including four consecutive sixes off Jason Holder, then snaffled 2-28 with the ball. He was pretty much spot on with his field placings and bowling changes too.

More of the same tonight, please.

Spare a thought for Gloucestershire's David Payne - the only player in England's 16-man squad not to have played a game in this series. He's on drinks duty again this evening.
