  1. Ind 55-0published at 11 overs

    Mandhana 22, Verma 30

India reach their 50 with a two tickled down to fine leg from Verma.

She follows it up with a glorious slog sweep over mid-wicket for four. Sophie Ecclestone is the latest frustrated England bowler as she skulks her way back to her fielding position.

  3. Ind 48-0published at 10 overs

Verma takes a big swing at another short ball from Shrubsole, her front foot is almost at square leg she's opened up so much. She can only get a bottom edge that just trickled past the stumps.

End of powerplay and as I suspected, we've seen a very different India this morning with these two staying in.

  4. Ind 46-0published at 9.2 overs

Just slightly short from Shrubsole and Mandhana won't miss out on that - perfectly placed between mid-wicket and square leg for four.

  5. Ind 42-0published at 9 overs

    Mandhana 17, Verma 22

Sophie Ecclestone replaces Brunt, who is without a doubt still seething. She's out on the boundary now, probably to keep her away from the stump mics.

Just the three singles from the spinner's first over.

To illustrate the feeling in the battle between Katherine Brunt and Shafali Verma, this is the Barnsley bowler's reaction to dismissing the opener in the first ODI.

Don't make eye contact, Lauren Winfield-Hill. At least not for a few overs.

  7. Ind 39-0published at 8 overs

Poor Lauren Winfield-Hill. Katherine Brunt doesn't even make eye contact with her.

Dropping a catch is one of the worst feelings in the world, isn't it?

Mandhana calms things down a little, just taking a single from Shrubsole's over.

It wasn't the hardest chance, but it wasn't the easiest because it was hit with some power.

  9. dropped catch

Verma dropped on 21published at 7 overs

    Katherine Brunt is fuming.

    And I mean, fuming.

Shafali Verma has nailed a ball - and she did hit it very hard - straight to mid-off and Lauren Winfield-Hill has dropped it.

Wow. How costly could that be?

In case you missed it earlier, the BBC has launched its coverage for The Hundred today. Many of the players involved today will also be starring in The Hundred.

  11. Ind 32-0published at 6 overs

A quiet over from Shrubsole brings a single each to the batters.

There's way too much football chat going on TMS at the moment for my liking, as a (slightly bitter) Welsh person.

I don't even watch Love Island either so I can't really get involved in many conversations at the moment.

What a shot! Katherine Brunt couldn't believe it, she is throwing her hands up in the air.

  13. Ind 30-0published at 5 overs

    Mandhana 8, Verma 20

More final ball single-and-hog-strike tactics from Verma.

  14. Ind 29-0published at 4.4 overs

Shafali Verma is getting going now. Full, straight on middle stump from Brunt and somehow it's been carved off the back foot for a four through cover.

Brunt's amazing facial expressions come to the fore as she waves her hands in frustration as if to say, what do I do to that?!

Shafali Verma is such a thrilling cricketer to watch, she really is.

  16. Ind 23-0published at 4 overs

    Mandhana 7, Verma 14

And she hogs the strike with a single off the final ball, great batting.

  17. Ind 22-0published at 3.5 overs

What a shot! Shafali Verma is bored of dot balls.

Full from Shrubsole and the batter pounces to nail it over mid-off for four. Classic.

That has done all sorts! Mandhana had no idea where that had gone.

  19. Ind 18-0published at 3.1 overs

That was close - Anya Shrubsole gets some real seam movement and gets a ball to jag back and square Mandhana up completely. The batter gets a top edge that goes miles over Heather Knight's head at slip.
