  1. Aus 128-1published at 37 overs

OH! What has happened there? It is a missed opportunity for England, but in utterly bizarre fashion.

Haseeb Hameed gathers a David Warner flick at short leg and the left-hander is a few yards down the pitch and slips.

He scurries to try and make his mark, but he drops his bat and it is over the line, but he doesn't have his hand on it! All Hameed has to do is hit the stumps, from what - five yards? But he misses!

Warner was trying to crawl back in and get his paw back over the line, but it would have been too late.

Could Hameed have run in and knocked the bails off?

Warner still wanted to stay leg side of the ball. He does not want to get in line. He is a tad uncomfortable.

  3. Aus 128-1published at 36.4 overs

For someone 56 not out, David Warner is really not flowing.

He is again hiding away as he looks to pull away, before Mark Wood looks to cramp him for room but the left-hander does well to cut away through point and to the boundary.

I'm surprised it is as high as 78% to be honest.

Whenever England get the edge you can have very little confidence it will be held. It isn't just the same person repeatedly - they are all guilty of dropping their fair share.

  6. Aus 123-1published at 36 overs

Another maiden from Ollie Robinson - he is offering an element of control to England at least. He isn't really threatening Marnus Labuschagne though.

He bowled a fairly healthy no-ball in that over too, but it wasn't called...

On that, TMS said a short while ago that the third umpire normally has his own set of four cameras to monitor no-balls but that technology failed yesterday. The camera feeds from the broadcasters take slightly longer which is why they can't use it every ball.

England drops are such a regular occurrence. We shouldn't be surprised abut that Burns drop.

Hide behind the sofa/under the duvet time.

Here is that Rory Burns drop of David Warner.

England cannot afford to do this.

Warner wasn't watching at all. He was ducking out of the way but managed to get it out of the middle of the bat.

He does not look comfortable against the extra pace of Wood.

  10. Aus 123-1published at 35 overs

A no-look pull for four! David Warner is toughing this out, but he definitely doesn't look comfortably against the pace of Mark Wood.

His head almost goes within his neck, think of a tortoise, but he still goes through with the pull and it avoids a leg point and beats fine leg and goes to the boundary. He timed it superbly to be fair to him.

ME: Two half-centurions at the crease, and Australia only 30 runs in arrears with a whole session of sunny skies and a dead ball to play with. Oh dear.

    A lack of match practice...

England have got so used to bowling in the nets, rather than in warm-up games, in the last few weeks.

  14. Aus 118-1published at 34 overs

    A maiden from Ollie Robinson.

You can tell David Warner is battling with himself. He normally plays drives with such a fluent flourish, but there a lot of checked drives at the moment.

England weren't able to find a way through the tough spell. Yes the wicket has been better today but Australia have rotated the strike a bit better.

Warner has got there. Just about.

    Aus 118-1

There it is. A 31st Test half-century for David Warner.

He's having to battle - he got hit on the thigh pad and have an ugly swipe at a wide-ish delivery earlier in the over - but he's still there and that's something no England batter could do.

He moves to the landmark with a punch through the covers for three.

It'll be Mark Wood from the other end after lunch.

He really troubled David Warner in the first session. The Aussie opener is now wearing a huge chest guard - the sort normally reserved for a lower-order batter.

That is a big let-off for David Warner.
