This is a one-day field!
Jack Leach's first ball is drifting down the leg side, and an ungainly hoick from Travis Head picks him up two runs.
I am not sure that this field screams confidence in your bowler.
There are four men on the boundary! Dearie me.
Well, here is Jack Leach.

The worry for England is that it only takes one player to come in and play a few shots before Australia will be up around their first innings total and it could get hard to control.

It might be worth giving Jack Leach an over before lunch just to get him into the game when the batters will be playing more defensively.
But if the left handers are still in after lunch, it might be a risk if they take the attack to him again.
A firm thwack off the back foot adds another smattering of runs to Head's total, but he's fortunate not to be run out off the final ball of the over as Haseeb Hameed pings a throw wide from gully.
Oh, I think he'd have been out if that had hit! Hameed is on his haunches, as is Joe Root. Hmm.

That was a very poor ball from Ollie Robinson and he knows it.
Oh, not there. Short, sitting up for Travis Head, and he gratefully cracks the ball away to pick up his first boundary.
James Anderson, after his superb spell, is off, and Ollie Robinson is on.
Here's Jimmy Anderson taking the more than deserved wicket of Steve Smith a little earlier.

It's been good to see England showing some spirit and some skill today.
I'm sure it's just a coincidence but my dog just snored himself awake, looked at the TV, saw Marcus Harris was still batting and went right back to sleep. I think he prefers Twenty20.

This is a huge opportunity for England. Marcus Harris is under pressure. Travis Head scored his 150 at The Gabba but he will give you chances, and Cameron Green is in next who has struggled this series.

Jimmy Anderson's spell so far reads six overs, five maidens, one wicket, one run.

Travis Head isn't having an awful lot of fun against James Anderson, and he plays his way through a maiden.

Marcus Harris really has had some luck today.
Harris 43, Head 1
Lucky!
Oh, that's a kiker. Marcus Harris sends a thick outside edge just - and I mean just - between a diving second and third slip. Third slip is quite wide, actually, which allowed Harris to get away with that waft.
The delivery that got rid of Steve Smith was so good that it's actually broken the bail in two.
Travis Head gets himself off the mark with a thick inside edge, while Marcus Harris moves to the very important figure of 39 not out...

Ah, yes. In all the excitement I briefly forgot that England will have to bat again.
But still, there's a chance here for England, if they can take it. Mark Wood is returning for a blast at Marcus Harris and Travis Head.
