The ground staff are now covering the bowlers run-ups too. That has been fairly rare in this series, so it would suggest they think this might last a while.

Close is scheduled for 11:30 GMT, but we can play until 12:00 so we do have time.

Here's how Mark Wood picked up the wicket of Cameron Green.

We'll use this delay to run through all the clips and catch you up on any action you've missed.

What an utterly fantastic photo this is.

Top-level sport at its absolute best.

This is going on Broady's Instagram tonight, surely?

The ground staff have put down a decent amount of covers now, but Glenn McGrath is already reporting that it is easing off.

  6. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 10:07 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2022

We're going off. The rain has got heavier and Mark Wood, who struggles to stay on his feet at the best of times, is slipping as he attempts to bowl.

    The Hobart crowd boo.

Hmmmm. There is a little bit of rain in the air.

The two umpires come together but they decide to carry on for now.

  8. Aus 241-6published at 59.1 overs

Offt! A bit of width from Mark Wood and Alex Carey crashes away a cut shot.

It almost took Paul Wilson's head off stood at point. He ducked just in time.

    Superb shot.

All Australia have to do is be a bit patient and the bad balls come along.

  10. Aus 237-6published at 59 overs

Just a single from Stuart Broad's latest over. He is offering England an element of control after tea.

He is knackered though. He is covered in sweat, it is dripping all over him and he is trudging to his fielding position.

Mitchell Starc is the new batter, rather than Pat Cummins, who was carded to come in at eight.

Starc has had an excellent series with bat and ball.

That was a very good over from Mark Wood. He set Green up. That was straight into the trap.

    Green c Crawley b Wood 74 (Aus 236-6)

Oh no. He's given this away.

This was a much better over from Mark Wood to be fair. He hit Cameron Green on the body with one early, before sending one whistling past his shoulder and then he goes round the wicket and the short ball is pulled down the throat of Zak Crawley at deep square leg.

    England have an opening.

  15. Aus 235-5published at 57 overs

Lovely shot. Cameron Green drives Stuart Broad to the cover boundary to move to 74.

His highest score in Test cricket is 84. He's going to get that elusive maiden ton, isn't he?

    Why is it always England?

That was the 10th four off Wood's bowling in his 10 overs.

For Mark Wood this is turning into an absolute nightmare.

  18. Aus 230-5published at 56 overs

Mark Wood does at least go back over the wicket to end the over.

He got punched for a lovely back-foot drive by Cameron Green when he was round the wicket.

Wood has had a really good tour, and been quite luckless, but he's having a horror of a day. He's gone for 74 from 10 overs now.

  19. Aus 230-5published at 55.4 overs

Mark Wood is bowling round the wicket, bowling bouncers into the body of Cameron Green on a day one, on a green top....

I cannot believe how much this has slipped from 12-3 and the first 10 overs.
