  1. Aus 42-1published at 6 overs

    Target 170

Good over for Australia to finish the powerplay.

Tahlia McGrath picks up two boundaries - first, through third, before she powers a pull to the mid-wicket fence.

Katherine Brunt couldn't believe the second boundary. She stood there, hand on chin, in disbelief.

Katherine Brunt is back on for the final over of the powerplay.

    A key one.

  3. Aus 32-1published at 5 overs

    Target 170

Good start from Freya Davies, conceding just six. She finished with a loopy full toss, that probably deserved to be punished, but Tahlia McGrath could only work it for a single.

The required run-rate is up to 9.20. England are pushing it up.

Australia may target Freya Davies, knowing how well Sophie Ecclestone has bowled.

    Offt, big shout Henry.

She'd have to be some player to be better than Nat Sciver and New Zealand's Sophie Devine.

Tahlia McGrath is no longer the raw talent she was four years ago - she's a really good world-class all-rounder now. Possibly the best in the world.

  7. Aus 26-1published at 4 overs

    Target 170

Tahlia McGrath, who took 3-26 with the ball earlier, is the new batter.

Sophie Ecclestone has 1-9 from her two overs. She's had exactly the start that England captain Heather Knight would have wanted.

That's a really good catch by Nat Sciver and it's put Australia under pressure.

Everyone froze for a split second, hoping Sciver would chuck the ball in the air in celebration.

    Breakthrough! BIG wicket!

The pressure was building on Australia - with just two singles from the first four balls of the over - and Alyssa Healy, who was striking at less than 100 and it tells.

Healy looks to work the ball through mid-wicket, but it is straight to Nat Sciver, who takes an excellent low catch.

Sophie Ecclestone will continue at the other end.

England will want to break this partnership quickly. They are two key players for Australia.

  12. Aus 24-0published at 3 overs

    Target 170

Three more. Meg Lanning spoons over mid-wicket but Maia Bouchier is able to scamper round and save England a run. Every single run could count based on this Australia start.

Lanning looks in excellent nick, as she picks up two more with a thunderous cut.

Meg Lanning has superstitions. She scratches the crease three times before taking guard, has to sit in the corner of the dressing room, eats the same cereal in the morning and won't eat duck the day before!

  14. Aus 18-0published at 2.3 overs

    Shot!

Nat Sciver bangs one in and Meg Lanning crushes a pull shot to the square leg boundary.

    She timed that magnificently.

Heather Knight is going to rotate her bowlers in the powerplay by the looks of it.

Nat Sciver will replace Katherine Brunt.

  17. Aus 12-0published at 2 overs

    Target 170

Four! Edgy from Meg Lanning but she starts in perfect fashion to Sophie Ecclestone as the England spinner offers a little bit of width and the drive beats Freya Davies at short third.

Decent comeback from Ecclestone though. How she fares in this multi-format series is likely to highly influence how successful England are.

Hello! We're going to see some spin in the powerplay from England.

Left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone, the number one-ranked bowler in the format, is on.

I love Meg Lanning is opening the batting and facing the first ball - it shows where she's at with her game.

  20. Aus 5-0published at 1 over

    Target 170

Good start from Katherine Brunt - she ends the over with three dot balls.

Australia's required run-rate is 8.68 at the moment. We'll keep an eye on that - England will want to push it above 10s as soon as possible.
