And in today's other fixture, it was a washout between West Indies and South Africa, which meant that they took a point each and South Africa joined Australia in reaching the semi-finals.

And that's all from us here today. Thank you for following!

For now, treat yourselves to Stephan Shemilt's match report, and we'll see you for England's final group stage fixture against Bangladesh at 22:00 on Saturday 26 March.

England then lost just one wicket in pursuit of their low target, Tammy Beaumont dismissed lbw to Diana Baig, who bowled beautifully. On another day, she could've easily taken three wickets in that opening spell.

But Danni Wyatt grew in confidence from each ball she faced, finishing 76 not out, while Heather Knight was happy to watch from the other end - she remained unbeaten on 24.

England will be brimming with confidence going into their final game against Bangladesh, and onto the semi-finals - that they should reach, barring a nightmare.

Sophie Ecclestone was as impressive as ever, also claiming three wickets - although she was ably assisted by the faultless Amy Jones behind the stumps for two of them!

She claimed the final wicket of Diana Baig to wrap up Pakistan's innings, all out for just 106.

There were plenty of positives for England to take from this convincing win, but a big tick was the return to form of Katherine Brunt.

Having taken just one wicket in all of England's previous games in the World Cup so far, she set the tone today with a wicket from the very first ball before claiming another two scalps in the middle overs.

A very convenient time for their strike bowler to find some confidence.

  5. Good morning! What have you missed?published at 06:01 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March 2022

Hello! If you're just waking up in the UK, ready for the commute or school run, here's a quick recap (it won't take long).

Spoiler: the game is already over. A rarity in this tournament, we've had an early finish thanks to England's complete dominance, cruising to a nine-wicket win over Pakistan.

Heather Knight won the toss, put Pakistan into bat and bundled them all out for 105 in just under 42 overs - three wickets apiece for Sophie Ecclestone and Katherine Brunt.

England lost Tammy Beaumont early but Danni Wyatt finished with 76 not out and Heather Knight 24 not out to wrap up a convincing win with 30 overs remaining.

England captain Heather Knight on Sky Sports: "That's our most complete performance so far. It's nice to not have a nervy one for a change!

"We went in to win but the secondary goal was to up our net run-rate a bit so we're really pleased with how we've done.

"The bowlers were outstanding, yes the wicket was a bit green but they still have to put the ball in the right areas and they found a good length. I'm so pleased for Katherine, she's had a tough tournament so far but to see her back at her best was brilliant.

"She's done all that herself, she's worked on her action and put in the work, it was just about reminding herself how good a player she is.

"Diana Baig bowled outstandingly, she was really threatening. So I think if we'd have batted first we would have had to play the new ball very well and look to get maybe 270/280, but our plan was always to try and bowl first and bowl them out.

"We're learning now that it's not how you start a tournament, it's how you finish. We're not there yet, we've got one big game left, but hopefully we can put in another good performance and our net run-rate will be enough."

Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof on Sky Sports: "The two run outs early on really damaged us. We needed players to stay in, bat the 50 overs out and get us a score we could try and defend.

"Our bowling is our strength, so we always back them. We know we can take wickets against any team so we like to take advantage of bowling first usually.

"Our batting approach has to change. We have been talking about that, but we just need to believe in ourselves more. We have hitters and players who can play shots, we just need to back them.

"Diana Baig was brilliant. She used the conditions really well."

Georgie Heath: Tournament play is mad...last week there were all the grumblings about the side, the coaching, the captaincy, Brunt's age etc and NOW England have one foot in the semi-final and Brunt is flying, smiling and performing.

Player of the Match Danni Wyatt on Sky Sports: "My first fifty in a World Cup, it's about time really! I'm really happy, and it's great to get an early finish too.

"I'm really pleased with how I played today but credit to the bowlers who set it up really well. Big shout out to Katherine Brunt, to come back and bowl her heart out today, I'm so pleased for her.

"Hopefully one more win against Bangladesh, one more big game.

"We saw the wicket was a bit green, a bit like we'd get in England so we knew it was a good toss to win. The ball did a bit early on but once you're in you can cash in and go big.

"I think I played quite sensibly! I just wanted to spend some time in the middle and get us over the line."

An easy, dominant win in the end for England, and plenty of positives to take from it - notably wickets for Katherine Brunt and runs for Danni Wyatt, two of their players who were struggling for form coming into this game.

England jump to third in the table and with a win against Bangladesh, they'll pretty much be safely in the semi-finals. What a turnaround they've had!

The run map shows Danni Wyatt scored 76 with 11 fours, 1 three, 7 twos, and 15 singles for England Women

Down the track, up and over extra cover! Delightful from Wyatt, who is growing in confidence from each ball she faces here.

Heather Knight's turn to go big! She clubs Nashra Sandhu down the ground, but it plugs in the outfield and they run two.

Followed by a sweep for one, the equation is into single figures.

Two more to Danni Wyatt and this has been quite the commanding performance from England.

Yes, they were always expected to beat Pakistan and always should do, given the huge disparity between the teams in terms of investment and structure, but they were under pressure and have done it in style.
