  1. Eng 34-1published at 8 overs

    Target 106

Glorious from Danni Wyatt, smashing another cover drive for four as Aiman Anwar offers some more width.

At the other end, Pakistan's bowlers just can't back up Diana Baig and that's a real problem for them as they are struggling to build any periods of pressure.

The worm shows England Women are 11 runs ahead of Pakistan Women. England Women are 34 for 1 after 8 overs. At the same stage Pakistan Women were 23 for 2.

England should win this convincingly but the ball is doing a bit and there is rain around.

This is a lively surface and lively spell of bowling and Heather Knight isn't looking too comfortable.

  4. Eng 30-1published at 7 overs

    Target 106

Heather Knight is not looking comfortable against Diana Baig. She inside edges one onto her pad before being beaten outside the off stump twice, genuinely playing and missing.

Knight then drives for two, before jamming her bat down on a yorker from the final ball. Enthralling stuff.

We met the DJ from the ground the other night and I asked him if he would play a song for me if England win the World Cup. He said yes, so I panicked and just asked for 'Spice up your life'.

  7. Eng 28-1published at 6 overs

    Target 106

Crunched! Aiman Anwar drops one way too short and Danni Wyatt will not miss out on that. Emphatically pulled through mid-wicket for another boundary.

  8. Eng 21-1published at 5 overs

What a ball to get first up! Diana Baig completely squares up Heather Knight, finds the outside edge and Nahida Khan pulls off a spectacular stop at slip as the ball just bounces in front of her outstretched hand.

Diana Baig is finding some late swing that is causing some real problems out there.

    Beaumont lbw b Diana 2 (Eng 20-1)

    Crashing into leg stump!

Pakistan have that early breakthrough and just halt England's momentum after Wyatt's three boundaries in the previous over.

Beaumont was just trying to play a straight ball too square and lost her shape completely.

    There's no bat ...

Now then! Tammy Beaumont plays all around a straight delivery from Diana Baig. It looks plumb but the umpire doesn't think so - and Pakistan send it upstairs.

  13. Eng 20-0published at 4 overs

    Target 106

Adding insult to injury, Danni Wyatt smashes three fours from the next three balls and all of a sudden England are on the charge!

The worm shows England Women are nine runs ahead of Pakistan Women. England Women are 20 for 0 after 4 overs. At the same stage Pakistan Women were 11 for 2.

That was a big chance and it should have been taken.

  15. dropped catch

Wyatt dropped on 4published at 04:32 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March 2022

Oh that would've been a worldie!!

Think Deandra Dottin in England's game against the West Indies, but potentially harder - definitely lower to the ground, anyway.

Nida Dar leaps to her right and gets one hand to it but the ball just bounces out as she hits the floor. A tough, tough chance.

Georgie Heath: This SHOULD be straightforward but I can't feel safe until England are over that line. Their form so far with the bat has been shaky and they have proved their phenomenal ability to capitulate.

  17. Eng 6-0published at 3 overs

    Target 106

A watchful start from England, and credit to Pakistan's openers for giving them very few scoring opportunities so far.

Diana Baig beats Beaumont's outside edge with a beautiful delivery last ball, finding some nice seam movement off the pitch.

Danni Wyatt is at her best when she plays her natural game - she'll be fine. She's a proper team player and we've seen in the last couple of games when England have won, she's been smiling at the end.

This is a cautious start from Danni Wyatt.

  20. Eng 5-0published at 2 overs

Fatima Sana bowls the second over and it's a tidy start, just two conceded from it.

The England team look very relaxed in their seats, full of smiles.
