  1. See you tomorrow!published at 22:18 British Summer Time 16 July 2021

And that's all we've got time for tonight.

Michael and Joe will be back at 16:45 BST on Saturday for the small matter of Lancashire vs Yorkshire.

Then there are seven more games on Sunday as this terrific group stage comes to a close.

    Until then, stay safe!

  2. Weekend fixturespublished at 22:15 British Summer Time 16 July 2021

So, four games to go in each group then to decide the eight quarter-finalists. Here's what we have in store for you over the next two days.

    Saturday

    North Group:

Lancashire Lightning v Yorkshire Vikings (17:00 BST)

    Sunday

    North Group:

Birmingham Bears v Northants Steelbacks (14:30 BST)

Notts Outlaws v Durham (16:00 BST)

Leicestershire Foxes v Worcestershire Rapids (18:30 BST)

    South Group:

    Essex v Middlesex (14:30 BST)

Hampshire Hawks v Glamorgan (14:30 BST)

Kent Spitfires v Sussex (18:30 BST)

    Somerset v Gloucestershire (18:30 BST)

  3. How they stand - South Grouppublished at 22:14 British Summer Time 16 July 2021

Things, thankfully, are slightly more straightforward in the South Group.

Kent Spitfires are through as group winners after thrashing Middlesex tonight.

Somerset are also through as it is impossible for three other teams to overtake them.

Sussex, in third, will progress if they beat Kent on Sunday, as will fifth-placed Gloucestershire if they defeat Somerset - if either lose, they will be reliant on other results.

Surrey must hope 15 points is enough as they have no more games - meaning they need Glos and, maybe Hants, to lose.

Hampshire must beat Glamorgan and significantly improve their run rate, while hoping for others to slip up. Even after winning two matches tonight!

Everyone else is out. We said that was more straightforward didn't we? Not sure it is actually!

  4. How they stand - North Grouppublished at 22:08 British Summer Time 16 July 2021

    Right, deep breath.

The Covid-related cancellations of Derbyshire's final two games mean the North Group is being decided on points per game.

Notts Outlaws will top the group despite tonight's loss to Leicestershire - and even if they lose their final game against Durham.

Unless our maths is wrong, Yorkshire are also through - as if even they lose the Roses derby tomorrow it's not possible for the three teams below them to surpass their points per game total.

Lancashire will secure a quarter-final spot by beating Yorkshire, as will Worcestershire by winning at Leicestershire on Sunday.

Birmingham Bears are the team on the outside looking in - they must beat Northants and hope either Lancashire or Worcestershire slip up.
