  1. Fire 49-1published at Ball 30

The world class leg-spinner Adil Rashid is bowling to world class batter Jonny Bairstow. They're international team-mates and Yorkshire team-mates.

Oof, a top edge sends the ball ballooning over the wicketkeeper and he's fortunate for it to not land in the paws of a fielder.

  2. Fire 42-1published at Ball 25

Ben Duckett is off the mark with a couple.

What odds are you giving on a Bairstow century? Premature, I know.

Good decision from Ben Stokes to make the review at the last minute. That is the breakthrough they needed. It has been one of the higher powerplay scores we have seen. They need to drag the Fire back as they have a superb platform.

    Banton lbw b Carse (43-1)

Ben Stokes took a while to review but he will be glad he did! There was no bat involved and the ball would have gone on and hit middle stump. The clearest lbw you'll see.

Brilliant comeback from Brydon Carse after taking a hammering in his first two deliveries.

  6. Superchargers reviewpublished at Ball 23

Beauty form Brydon Carse! It's a yorker, right on the feet of Tom Banton.

Superchargers appeal for the lbw, not out. Stokes decides to review and we go to the TV umpire.

  7. Fire 42-0published at Ball 22

Bairstow isn't messing about. Four through the off side.

He smoked that. It has gone flat straight over the midwicket fielder.

    Fire 38-0published at Ball 21

Brydon Carse will never forget his first ball in The Hundred. But he wishes he could. Bairstow sends him into the stands.

  10. Fire 32-0published at Ball 20

How has that missed the stumps?! Tom Banton looks to play an expansive reverse sweep and the ball narrowly misses the top of off stump.

  11. Fire 31-0published at Ball 17

Afghanistan's Mujeeb Ur Rahman is introduced to the attack. He's a canny spinner, but Jonny Bairstow has his eye in! The opener drives it just over the head of Ben Stokes for four.

The difficult thing for Jonny Bairstow is that you don't want to bowl too full as he will hit you back over your head, but if you go shorter he is so quick on to it. The margin for error is so small.

  13. Fire 25-0published at Ball 15

A swing and a miss from Bairstow to end Wiley's second set of five. He's gone for 18 from his 10 balls so far.

I wonder whether Bairstow will try and better that huuuuuge six from Liam Livingstone on this ground last week.

Livingstone clear the stand and hit the ball onto the rugby pitch behind. I went to look for it earlier. No sign…

Jonny Bairstow is made for The Hundred! Four more!

  16. Fire 21-0published at Ball 12

Followed by a four, drilled back back the bowler!

Nothing sedate about that, Finny! Up and over from Bairstow as he launches Willey for six.

The cameras then pan on Jemimah Rodrigues who smashed 92 from 43 balls in Northern Supercharger's win earlier. It was an astonishing knock.

Sedate you'd say from these two. The two batters have been cramped up. It doesn't look from here as though it is an easy wicket to hit through the line of the ball. They will need to be intelligent about how they hit gaps.

  20. Fire 11-0published at Ball 10

Having lost to Northern Superchargers earlier this afternoon, the Welsh Fire women are enjoying a brew on the balcony as they watch on.

A few fans in the crowd think they've just witnessed a catch but the ball was hit into the turf first by Banton.
