Was Shakib reading my updates in the middle? Just as I compliment Holder, Shakib says "we'll see about that" and clobbers him over cover for the first four of the innings.

I find it strange that Jason Holder wasn't in the squad initially because he is a great cricketer.

  3. Ban 4-0published at 1,3 overs

Jason Holder must be one of the most likable and recognisable cricketers around. It helps when you're the height of a telegraph pole.

He's on for an early bowl after his six-hitting earlier...

It is noticeable that Shakib is really struggling out there. He is hobbling.

  5. Ban 4-0published at 1 over

    Target 143

Shakib is hobbling between the wickets. That suggests Liam Plunkett's suggestion he's come in to have a swing may be right.

Still, it's a calm start. Ravi Rampaul keeps the scoring down to singles.

There aren't going to be many quick singles in this opening pair because Shakib Al Hasan's leg doesn't look great. Maybe he's come in to play his shots and get them off to a good start.

  7. Ban 2-0published at 0.3 overs

Jason Holder has two caps on his head. That's usually a sign that he's captain these days. He wasn't even in the West Indies' squad until an injury a few days ago.

A reminder the loser of this game will be all-but out of the tournament.

    Target 143

Kieron Pollard, after he retired hurt earlier, has not taken to the field for this Bangladesh innings. There are any number of options to lead in his place.

Shakib Al Hasan is opening for Bangladesh too. That's a change from the last game.

    Could Nicholas Pooran's 40 from 22 balls be match-winning?

I'm backing West Indies from here. I didn't think I'd be saying that an hour ago.

That score should give Bangladesh a challenge. It does look tough to score and the seamers were just as difficult to get away as the spinners.

    Thanks Ffion.

West Indies were 70-5 after 14 overs. They ended on 142-7.

They'll take that, it's fair to say..

That's one of my favourite lines in an interview ever from Nicholas Pooran: "That was just because of my talent."

And on that note, here's Matthew Henry to take you through Bangladesh's chase.

West Indies' Nicholas Pooran: "It is a challenging track. It definitely isn't a 170 wicket.

"That was just my talent! I haven't been able to score runs for a while so I was just glad I was able to express myself. Hopefully it will be a winning score.

"That score feels like 160. I am very happy with that score from where we were."

  16. Bangladesh need 143 to winpublished at 12:55 British Summer Time 29 October 2021

West Indies will be very happy with that, you'd imagine - they were 48-3 after 10 overs and had only managed two boundaries.

This probably won't be an easy chase for Bangladesh.

It was just too close to Kieron Pollard. It was in his arc and he just used his immense power.

It was a great finish from west Indies. It was exactly what they needed. They have the momentum at the break.

What a way to finish the innings!

  19. WI 142-7published at 20 overs

What a way to finish! Pollard casually flicks Mustafizur's final ball for six! That looked absolutely effortless.

They've actually done amazingly well to get to that score - the final over concedes 19.

These runs are valuable. It should prove to be a difficult chase for Bangladesh.
