That is a really good shot from Nicholas Pooran.

  2. 6 runs

    WI 110-4published at 17.1 overs

Another six! Pooran has absolutely crunched this one back over Mahedi's head and into the stands. He has 32 from 18 balls.

Roston Chase came in with the score on just 12 after three overs.

He is still there with 38 from 44 balls. In normal circumstances you'd ask what on earth is that approach - but he's actually played his role pretty well given the carnage around him.

And he's been dropped, which helps too.

  4. WI 103-4published at 17 overs

Shoriful drags things back for Bangladesh with a tidy over that concedes just four runs.

    Three overs to go.

Andre Russell has had a day to forget so far.

He came in to bat as Kieron Pollard very casually retired hurt, and then didn't even get to face a ball. It was rather calamitous.

  6. WI 99-4published at 16 overs

Another 14-run over and that'll do nicely for West Indies. A couple more of those and they'll at least have something to work with.

The sound off the bat was amazing then. As soon as he hit it you knew it was six.

This is a bit more like it!

  9. 6 runs

    WI 96-4published at 15.2 overs

And another! Even bigger this time and Pooran has clearly had enough of running singles. Let's have a few more, please!

  10. 6 runs

    WI 90-4published at 15.1 overs

A six?! Am I seeing things?

Pooran has smashed the ball straight over the ropes.

Roston Chase has been really good at holding it together. He could have just lashed out and got out.

  12. WI 84-4published at 15 overs

Another! This time Nicholas Pooran latches onto a short ball and heaves it to the leg side boundary.

West Indies' most productive over by far - 14 from it.

  13. WI 77-4published at 14.3 overs

A boundary! Roston Chase smashes it back past the bowler for four runs.

If I was the coach right now I'd probably be sat next to the manager arranging the flights home.

The body language hasn't been great.

  15. WI 70-4published at 14 overs

So Roston Chase is still there on 29 from 39 balls. West Indies will be happy with anything over 100 at this rate.

As boundary catches go that is as straightforward as you like. He can't believe he's done that.

There is some pretty low-grade cricket going on out there at the moment.

  17. dropped catch

Chase dropped on 28published at 12:17 British Summer Time 29 October 2021

The drama continues! Roston Chase has had enough of singles and goes for a huge slog sweep. Straight to Mahedi on the boundary and it's been put down.

It is like a circus out there at the moment.

  19. WI 67-4published at 13.3 overs

And now Pooran legs it down the pitch and throws everything at a ball from Shakib that is eventually given a wide AND it's a missed stumping AND Pooran has fallen over. I honestly have no words.

I would definitely take that rather than having to bowl at Andre Russell.
