This sets up the game between New Zealand and India on Sunday absolutely beautifully. That is going to be a cracker.

Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi: "We didn't start really well - the total on the board was decent but maybe not enough.

"We discussed that 150 was a decent score on the pitch, and we did manage to take the game deep.

"I thought Rashid bowled at the right time because at 10 overs, they still needed about eight runs an over, but Asif Ali played that 19th over really well.

"There are many positives to take from this. We fought to the end and it's given me more motivation to win games."

The confidence, and perhaps even arrogance, to even think you could get 25 from an over.

Player of the Match Asif Ali: "The boundary was small from this end so I told my partner I'd go for it this over. Thank God we pulled it off.

"I look at the situation and what it demands and which bowler has overs remaining, and the field setting. I told Shoaib that Naveen was bowling well, and from this end I could even score 25 in an over. So I planned for it."

Pakistan captain Babar Azam will be delighted with another clinical performance from his side. They weren't mentioned as serious contenders in many quarters before the tournament but everybody is talking about them now.

Babar contributed today with his third half-century in four games.

I didn't get chance to describe the winning six but it is a ridiculously good shot from Asif Ali.

Karim Janat only just misses with his yorker but Asif pumps a magnificent shot over extra cover.

Such a hard shot to play.

Unsurprisingly Asif Ali has been named man of the match for that ridiculous innings.

His, and Pakistan's, confidence must be sky high right now.

Pakistan look like a side that have it all and that'll make international teams worry. When things click for them, they can beat anyone. They're so committed and with so much raw talent. They're definitely the team to watch in this tournament.

Asif Ali made 27 from 11 balls against New Zealand on Tuesday to win Pakistan the game too.

He was struggling with concussion-like symptoms after edging a pull shot onto his grille during that innings too.

Pakistan have a finisher. Pakistan are a serious side.

England, India, Australia and everyone else, watch out. Pakistan are going to take some beating.
