    Najibullah Zadran lbw Loftie-Eaton 7 (Afg 113-4)

    Three reds - out!

    That was all very understated.

    There was barely an appeal!

  3. Afghanistan reviewpublished at 11:12 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

Loftie-Eaton traps Najibullah Zadran lbw but the Afghanistan batter immediately reviews.

  4. Afg 109-3published at 15 overs

    It's all happening here.

Two wides, a six, a single and then an inside edge escaping fine for four.

Jan Frylinck manages to drag things back with three dots, though he still looks cheesed off at the end of the over.

  5. 6 runs

    Afg 104-3published at 14.1 overs

Jan Frylinck begins the next over with the widest of wides. The next ball is hammered straight back from whence it came by Asghar Afghan for six!

That's the hundred up for Afghanistan - Is Afghan going to bow out in style?

No one was particularly excited about that other than the bowler, and he's the captain.

  7. Not outpublished at 11:03 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

Missing the wickets - not out.

    It looked an optimistic shout.

  8. Namibia reviewpublished at 13.6 overs

Gerhard Erasmus has an lbw appeal turned down, but he sends it upstairs.

We could see Asghar Afghan playing some fearless cricket today in his last game, and that would be a big bonus for Afghanistan if he can get some quick runs.

  10. Afg 93-3published at 13.1 overs

Gerhard Erasmus brings himself on and he is immediately dispatched for four.

It's a lovely shot from Asghar Afghan as well, cutting it away fine backward of square.

He's played a very important knock there. Namibia are just chipping away and getting a new batter at the crease at key times.

That's an important breakthrough because Shahzad looked like he was in the mood.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12.4 overs

    Shahzad c Scholtz b Trumpelmann, 45 (Afg 89-3)

    Mohammad Shahzad has gone!

He goes for the scoop but can only find the top edge and the fielder comes round from slip to take the catch.

  14. Postpublished at 10:56 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

Here is the second wicket to fall, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton trapping Rahmanullah Gurbaz lbw for four.

Afghanistan are in a very good position during the conditions and the way the pitch is playing. If they can get up to 150 it will be very difficult for Namibia with the bowlers that Afghanistan have.

  16. Afg 87-2published at 12 overs

It's the Mohammad Shahzad show. This time he cuts the ball square through the offside - though some smart fielding restricts him to two.

He tries to repeat the trick but completely misses the ball before turning away in frustration.

That is a massive shot. He almost hit a fan there - not a person, an electric one. What is that doing there!?!

  18. 6 runs

    Afg 83-2published at 11.1 overs

    Huge!

Mohammad Shahzad has creamed that Loftie-Eaton over deep midwicket for a massive six!

  19. Afg 77-2published at 11 overs

Bernard Scholtz is the new bowler and Mohammad Shahzad heaves it into the on side. Two Namibia fielders converge but can only parry the ball over the rope, slipping over in the process.

That ruined what had been a tightish over from the left-armer.
