There was a great deal of intent in that shot. Shamim went after it and it was right in the slot.

Shot! Mitchell Starc overpitches and Shamim Hossain plants him over mid-on for his first boundary. He's looked really good so far.
Buzzers! A wayward throw from Mitch Marsh sees Bangladesh steal an extra run. Mitchell Starc is not impressed.

Australia are going for the jugular.
Mitchell Starc is back for his third over.
Aaron Finch and Australia want this wrapped up.

Shamim has started busily.
What is Bangladesh's game plan going to be from here? Do they rebuild until the 16th or 17th over and then blaze? Or do they just attack from now knowing there is probably nothing to lose?
Shamim Hossain is the new batter and he's already four from four balls.

It is a long way back for Bangladesh to post something that is even reasonable.

That was a proper Test match wicket. I may have no real truck with Adam Zampa's haircut, but he is a hell of a bowler.
Afif c Finch b Zampa 0 (Ban 33-5)
Adam Zampa comes on, and Adam Zampa strikes.
Beautiful bowling from the Australia leg-spinner to be fair. He draws Afif Hossain forward and a thick edge is well held by Aaron Finch at slip.
This is barely believable.

Bangladesh rarely play fast bowlers - it tends to be a lot of spin. When they get into these tournaments, they are maybe not adjusted to play at the highest level.
Afif Hossain is the new batter for Bangladesh. He's only 22 and averages just 16.7 in Twenty20 international. Bangladesh are going to need every one of those 16 today a fair few more.
The powerplay done. Australia have definitely won that.
Bangladesh have lost 18 powerplay wickets in this tournament now, by far the most. It is far too many.

This is a powerplay situation you do not want to be in.
Naim c Cummins b Hazlewood 17 (Ban 32-4)
Ah.
It did feel like Bangladesh were just starting to come out the other side of that early Australia storm but Mohammad Naim miscues a pull shot straight to Pat Cummins at square leg.
Simple catch and Australia are in complete control.

They play a lot of domestic cricket back home in Bangladesh but they don't play enough international cricket, which is where they are falling behind other teams. Other teams are getting stronger and faster.

Bangladesh are now playing their seventh game, and they've beaten two sides in that time. It baffles me. These are players that have been playing for years.
Beautiful.
Josh Hazlewood is back on and he is driven back down the ground from Mohammad Naim for another boundary. Textbook.
Australia are starting to leak a few runs.

That is really nicely played - a skillful stroke.
Shot! Mitchell Starc drops a little short and Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah flamingo-pulls to the boundary. That's a nice way to get off the mark.
Oh! Streaky! Mahmudullah edges past slip, and away to the boundary, to end the over.
A couple of productive overs for Bangladesh.
Here's how Mitchell Starc picked up the first wicket...
