    Root 33, Stokes 49

The Lord's crowd applauds a sensible single from Stokes at the end of the over. The sixes are good but they like that.

17 runs came from that over.

The target is now 124 runs away.

Well, well, this is counter-attacking from Stokes. It feels a bit perilous. He's hit three sixes off Ajaz Patel and he's only bowled two overs.

  3. Eng 152-4published at 48.5 overs

This is horrible for my heart.

Ben Stokes swings once more and the ball misses everything, including the wicketkeeper's gloves. Four byes but Stokes was almost bowled.

  4. 6 runs

    Eng 148-4published at 48.4 overs

Six more! This one is massive from Stokes.

    Hang onto your hats...

  5. 6 runs

    Eng 142-4published at 48.2 overs

Ben Stokes does it again! It's the same shot as that previous six and into the stands once more.

England are now beyond halfway. Woaaahh living on a prayer...

It's just got a bit brighter now. The sun's just coming out.

This partnership has now added 67 and it's strangely mirroring the New Zealand second innings.

Spinner Ajaz Patel is coming on for a bowl. He has only bowled one over in this match and was smashed for six by Ben Stokes.

Joe Root is getting some treatment from the England physio between overs.

  10. Eng 135-4published at 47 overs

    Root 33, Stokes 35

Things are just going with England at the moment. Joe Root has an ill-advised fiddle but the ball narrowly misses the edge. Root berates himself while Trent Boult has his palm over his face and Daryl Mitchell at slip his heads on his head.

England were nicking those on day one.

Five wides! Jamieson, perhaps unsettled by Stokes' attack, loses his radar completely. England won't care how they get them.

There's an air of unpredictability around Ben Stokes at the moment.

  14. Eng 129-4published at 45.4 overs

    Errrm...

Ben Stokes is charging Kyle Jamieson and clobbering him to the boundary! There are smiles among England fans in the stands. Is belief rising?

But a ball later Stokes has a massive swing and a miss! Stokes has a look on his face that looks like a man who has just got away with one.

As you know, it's Shane Warne Day and the Tailenders have been encouraging everyone to send in their videos of the 'Ball of the Century.' We've had plenty of great clips so we decided to give it a go in the corridor.

We had some seeded and unseeded bread roll so I wanted to see which one spun more. I tried to give it a bit of a loop and it hit the smoke alarm.

Here's that moment from a couple of overs ago.

All cricket between these two teams is just nice, isn't it?

Joe Root stands tall to Jamieson and pulls for four, bringing up the fifty partnership between the current and former England skipper.

Sir Alastair has just said "this game is on" on TMS which means it's time for all of us to worry.
