  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14.2 overs

    Moeen c Rohit b Hardik 35 (Eng 94-7)

    No, he's not.

Moeen drills the ball firmly ... into the hands of mid-off. He was just trying to kick things on a bit but Hardik Pandya takes the key wicket of England's all-rounder.

Do England's hopes go with him?

  2. 6 runs

    Eng 94-6published at 14.1 overs

    Like London buses!

Moeen heaves one over the leg side for six more, a bit more of a slog this time but he won't mind one bit. He has 35 runs from 20.

Is he going to take this on all by himself?

Wonderful shot from Moeen Ali. They wanted to fire it into the block-hole but Moeen was good enough to get under the bounce.

  4. 6 runs

    Eng 88-6published at 14 overs

There you go, England have hit a six!!

Jadeja bowls a full ball on leg stump that Moeen somehow gets underneath and lofts over long-on. Lovely stuff.

    Andy Zaltzman
    BBC Test Match Special statistician

No sixes for England so far. It's the only third time in a T20 international since 2010 that they've failed to hit a six in the first thirteen overs.

  6. Eng 80-6published at 13.3 overs

Shot! David Willey steps back and hammers Ravindra Jadeja through the covers for his first boundary.

    A classical cricket shot.

Don't think Dawid Malan will enjoy watching the replays of this.

    OK then, Moeen!

He gets a short ball from Harshal Patel, waits an age for it but eventually steers it beautifully round the corner for four more.

Fine leg is up inside the circle. Moeen's gone up and over with that, it's such a clever shot, executed brilliantly.

  10. Eng 69-6published at 12 overs

Down on one knee and swept for four from Moeen Ali! Lovely.

If he can hit about 20 more of those, that'd be nice.

Joey Gambles: It feels like all that work that Morgan did for England is being undone right before my eyes.

    David Willey joins Moeen Ali.

With Chris Jordan, Richard Gleeson and Matt Parkinson to come, this partnership is surely England's last chance.

We were just talking about getting used to the pace of the pitch. Sam Curran not giving himself time, trying to take out Jasprit Bumrah, the best T20 bowler in the world. Just manages to hit him to mid-off.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10.2 overs

    Curran c Hardik b Bumrah 2 (Eng 60-6)

    And another one goes.

Sam Curran tries to get on with it but choosing Jasprit Bumrah of all bowlers to target probably isn't the wisest move.

Bumrah expertly takes the pace off the ball and Curran can only chip it straight into the hands of Hardik Pandya at mid-on. Another tame dismissal.

India have just kept chipping away at England's batting line up. It's been a stunning performance in the field.

  16. Eng 59-5published at 10 overs

    Target 171

    Halfway through England's chase.

And there's a long way to go in terms of runs. Moeen Ali holds the key for England, I reckon - he's joined by Sam Curran at the moment.

I wondered when these two were going to look to push things on a bit. Chalal changes ends, his first ball is a juicy full toss, Malan just picks out the fielder. It's not what England need at this stage.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 9.1 overs

    Malan c Patel b Chahal 19 (Eng 55-5)

    A soft, soft dismissal.

Chahal gifts Dawid Malan a filthy full toss that he could've literally smashed anywhere. Instead he opts for a reverse sweep straight into the hands of short third.

He looks dejected, Chahal looks baffled but India don't mind how they get them.

India are rocking some seriously fancy sunglasses for this series. Very futuristic!

  20. Eng 55-4published at 9 overs

Batting is proving difficult at the moment. You sense one of these two is going to have to free their arms soon if England are going to have any chance.
