    Somerset 200-8 v Hampshire

Somerset do reach the 200 and their first batting point and it's Jack Leach who has got them there.

Leach has hit three boundaries in just ten balls and it's been lapped up by the healthy Taunton crowd.

Maximum bowling points for Yorkshire as Henry Brookes finds Jordan Thompson at point to give Tom Loten his second wicket.

Just Oliver Hannon-Dalby for company now for Michaeol Burgess, who is still on 55.

Ben Compton reaches his fourth hundred of the season in style (or so he thinks) as he pulls a short one from Luke Procter for four with some authority.

A scoreboard error is corrected and he only has 99 - but a fine sweep off Rob Keogh does finally take him to three figures from 221 balls - and brings up a 150 stand with Daniel Bell-Drummond.

Compton has hit 12 fours in this innings and his seasonal runs tally is now 774.

  4. Batting point for Bearspublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 19 May 2022

    Yorkshire v Warwicks 203-8

A batting point for the 2021 champions as Michael Burgess pulls Matthew Revis for four. He had to wait for that as it wasn't on to him as quickly as he expected, but the right-hander managed to adjust and put it away. Burgess is now 55 not out.

Not many bowlers can have got through the work that Matt Parkinson has this summer.

It's now 21 overs to go on top of 245 before today with 24 wickets to his name.

That's a sign of how key he is for Lancashire and the good quality of wickets we have seen in these opening weeks.

    Overton c Organ b Abbott (Somerset 184-8)

Craig Overton's counter-attack comes to an end.

He takes on Kyle Abbott but succeeds only in picking out the man at deep midwicket.

A good knock from Overton but Somerset may still fail to collect any batting points.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 19 May 2022

    Reece c Slater b Pattinson 49 (Notts 215-6 v Derbyshire)

Luis Reece has had to move down the Derbyshire order this season to accommodate the prolific Shan Masood.

A 50 appears to be his for the taking, though, as he hits back to back boundaries through the leg-side off James Pattinson.

But a trap has been set and he falls for it as he carves a wide delivery outside off stump to Ben Slater at deep backward point.

Ben Compton is into the 90s for the fifth times this season at Wantage Road - and went on to 100 on three of the four previous occasions. His stand with DBD is now worth 138.

  9. Middlesex fight back at Lord'spublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 19 May 2022

    Middlesex v Durham 193-5

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Middlesex put Durham in this morning but only took the one wicket with the visitors 81 runs to the good at lunch. But in the afternoon session they lost three for nine as Middlesex fought back in the sunshine of St John's Wood.

Michael Jones was bowled by Tim Murtagh early in the afternoon session for 37 before Luke Hollman got among the wickets. The leggy saw Scott Borthwick chop onto his off stump when on 15.

That brought new England captain Ben Stokes to the crease. After a single he hit a boundary with a reverse sweep off Hollman. But a few minutes later he was gone. Stokes tried to put Hollman into the pavilion but only found Toby Roland-Jones at long on when on 15.

At tea Durham were 178-4 and with Sean Dickson and David Bedingham missing they are really into the middle order now.

  13. Overton's useful cameopublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 19 May 2022

    Somerset 175-7 v Hampshire

Craig Overton is showing some valuable resistance for Somerset as he reaches 35 - the highest score of the innings.

Coming in at number eight, that won't go unnoticed by England as they deliberate who to be third seamer behind Anderson and Broad for the first Test with New Zealand.

  14. wicket

    McAndrew c Lyth b Thompson 15 (Yorkshire v Warwicks 188-8)

After two dropped catches earlier in the day, Adam Lyth hangs onto a head-high chance at second slip to send Nathan McAndrew on his way.

That wasn't a great shot but Jordan Thompson won't be complaining as he now has 3-57. Henry Brookes is the next man in for Warwickshire.

A rank long hop from Matt Parkinson is dispatched to the rope by Dan Lawrence and that's his 50.

Coming off 101 balls and seven fours, it's the ideal way to start his battle to win his place back in the England squad.

A three through the covers from Dan Lawrence takes him to his highest score of the season and he will want to push on in lovely conditions after tea.

The weather is so nice in Manchester, I had to have an ice cream during the tea break. Yesterday when at the park with my four-year-old, I refused him one. Does that make me a bad person?!

  19. Postpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 19 May 2022

    Yorkshire v Warwicks 174-7

We know very little (ok, nothing) about Nathan McAndrew's batting prowess, but he almost plays onto his stumps as he tries to leaves a ball from Yorkshire paceman Jordan Thompson.

It brings him four runs to fine leg and there is a more authentic boundary later in the over as he carves it away square to move into double figures.

  20. Kent claim batting pointpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 19 May 2022

    Northants v Kent 202-1

Ben Compton strokes Matt Kelly through the covers for four as he and Daniel Bell-Drummond post a century partnership for Kent's second wicket.

The left-hander finds the fine leg boundary later in the over as the visitors collect their first batting point in the 67th over.

Compton now has 79 not out from 192 balls.
