  1. Signing off

    Hampshire's Keith Barker

Plenty of excitement in today's Championship action as Keith Barker took 6-27 in Hampshire's 10-wicket win over Somerset - a result which puts them just three points behind Division One leaders Surrey.

There was also a three-day result at New Road, where Worcestershire beat Leicestershire by an innings and 259 runs after Azhar Ali made 225.

It could have been three victories but Lancashire clung on at Old Trafford with their final pair together to keep Essex waiting until tomorrow.

Joins us for coverage of that and the four other remaining games from 10.30.

    Worcestershire 577-6 dec v Leicestershire 148 & 170

Worcestershire won by an innings and 259 runs

  3. Close of play at Lord's

    Middlesex 422 v Durham 350 & 25-3

Nightwatchman Matt Salisbury does his job by blocking out a maiden from Tim Murtagh to end proceedings at Lord's.

Those three Durham wickets have given an extra edge to this game ahead of the final day and England skipper Ben Stokes will find himself at the crease if they lose another early.

Stokes took 4-72 in Middlesex's first innings in which Sam Robson (84), Max Holden (71) and Martin Andersson (62) were the main contributors.

  4. Close of play at Nottingham

    Notts 358 & 3-0 v Derbyshire 260 & 262

Ben Slater and Haseeb Hameed safely negotiate the final two overs of the day and will be back out in the middle again tomorrow morning.

This has been a good battle and Notts will need 162 runs to win on the final day.

    Looking forward to it!

  5. Post update

    Middx 422 v Durham 350 & 25-3

Here comes Toby Roland-Jones for his final over of the day, with three wickets to his credit already.

Nightwatchman Matt Salisbury takes a single from the first exposing Scott Borthwick, but he survives the final five deliveries.

    One more to come.

  6. Post update

    Notts 358 & 3-0 v Derbyshire 260 & 262

Ben Slater and Haseeb Hameed get Notts' second innings underway at this late stage on day three.

We don't expect them to be out there a lot longer but Derbyshire will be eyeing a breakthrough to take some confidence into tomorrow.

  7. Post update

    Middlesex 422 v Durham 350 & 24-3

Play ongoing in only two games now.

Tim Murtagh begins a new over to Scott Borthwick at Lord's and there will be two more to come following this one.

    Durham's deficit is 48.

  8. Close of play at Northampton

    Northants 347-7 v Kent 519-9 dec

A single to Lewis McManus is the only addition in the final over of play at Wantage Road where Northants close 172 in arrears.

It has been a solid batting effort by the home side, who were 110-3 overnight, with useful contributions from all their batsmen, led by Luke Procter, who made 76.

McManus will resume on 29 and Tom Taylor has 20 not out.

  9. Close of play at Old Trafford

    Lancashire 103 & 213-9 f/o v Essex 391

That's stumps and this one will make it into the final day after all.

Luke Wood and James Anderson will return tomorrow morning, trailing Essex by 75.

The visitors looked as if they were going to get it wrapped-up tonight, with Simon Harmer (5-85) in particular doing the damage.

Lancashire captain Dane Vilas' 62 was the highlight of the second innings after his side were forced to follow-on earlier in the day.

  10. DERBYSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 262

    Notts 358 v Derbyshire 260 & 262

Dane Paterson sends Nick Potts' off stump tumbling to bring an end to Derbyshire's second innings.

That's his third wicket of the innings - the same as James Pattinson.

Derbyshire's lead is 164 and we have two allocated over left to play so the Notts batters will have to get the pads on and head out into the middle.

  11. Post update

News from the tour game at Hove where New Zealand reached the close on 342-3.

Tom Latham, Will Young, Michael Bracewell and Tom Blundell all passed 50 before retiring, while England's Ollie Robinson took 0-42 from 18 overs.

    The full scorecard is here.

  12. WICKET

    Petersen lbw Roland-Jones 5 (Middlesex 422 v Durham 350 & 18-3)

What a new ball spell this is from Toby Roland-Jones, who has 3-4 now after having Keegan Petersen leg-before, the South African guilty of playing across the line.

Scott Borthwick is nine not out after two fours in the previous over from Tim Murtagh, but one of those was very fortunate, flying off the top edge over the slip cordon.

Time for a nightwatchman - and Matt Salisbury has the pads, helmet and gloves on for Durham.

  13. Post update

    Northants 334-7 v Kent 519-9 dec

It may be late in the day at Wantage Road, but when a gift comes along it would be churlish of a batter to refuse to accept it.

Jas Singh sends down a waist-high full toss outside off stump and Tom Taylor puts it away through the covers for four.

The deficit is 185 and there are three overs to go.

  14. WICKET

    Ali c sub b Harmer 5 (Lancashire 103 & 209-9 f/o v Essex 391)

Five for Simon Harmer and suddenly Essex on the brink of victory.

Like Tom Bailey before him, Hassan Ali goes for a big shot but instead of clearing the ropes he finds the hands of a grateful fielder.

Luke Wood and James Anderson are the last men in, with Lancashire 83 runs behind.

  15. WICKET

    Bailey c Walter b Cook 10 (Lancashire 103 & 209-8 f/o v Essex 391)

Tom Bailey goes for a big pull shot but doesn't get all of it and finds Paul Walter in the deep.

    Two to go for Essex...

  16. WICKET

    Hughes b Pattinson 49 (Notts 358 v Derbyshire 260 & 254-9)

    Alex Hughes

    Unbelievable!

After watching Liam Hurt be dismissed on 49 by James Pattinson Alex Hughes has done exactly the same!

They had been matching each other stride for stride seemingly on their way to half-centuries but in the end neither of them get to 50.

A couple of big wickets for Pattinson late in the day and Notts will now be looking to get that final Derbyshire scalp in the remaining eight allocated overs.

  17. WICKET

    Lees c Simpson b Roland-Jones 1 (Middx 422 v Durham 350 & 7-2)

A brilliant catch by John Simpson who dives full length to take it left-handed just above the turf as England opener Alex Lees goes cheaply - the second victim of Toby-Roland-Jones' first over.

Keegan Petersen drives straight for four in the next, bowled by Tim Murtagh, and there are eight more to come.

  18. WICKET

    Cobb c Leaning b Singh 41 (Northants 317-7 v Kent 519-9 dec)

Josh Cobb gets right underneath a pull shot and skies a catch to Jack Leaning. It's a first wicket for Jas Singh in his first Championship game of the season. There are 7.3 overs to go as Tom Taylor comes out to bat.

  19. Close of play at Headingley

    Yorkshire 449 v Warwickshire 244 & 57-3

There will be no resumption because of the rain at Headingley and champions Warwickshire will begin the final day 148 behind, with seven wickets remaining.

Matthew Revis boosted Yorkshire's total with an unbeaten 53, adding 58 for the final wicket with Steve Patterson.

They then reduced the visitors to 25-3 before Sam Hain and Will Rhodes dug in to prevent any further damage.

  20. WICKET

    Hurt c Moores b Pattinson 49 (Notts 358 v Derbyshire 260 & 254-8)

Oh so close to a half-century for Liam Hurt but he's gone for 49!

James Pattinson has Hurt caught behind by Tom Moores to break up the partnership the batter had enjoyed with Alex Hughes - who is now on 49 not out himself.

    Derbyshire's lead is 156.
