    Middlesex 292-7 v Durham 350

While we were looking at the Yorkshire run-deduction situation, Middlesex lost a wicket to the first ball after tea at Lord's.

John Simpson was the man to go, playing needlessly at a wide one from Chris Rushworth and giving a catch to Ben Raine at point.

He made 41 and Martin Andersson is now at the crease with Middlesex still 59 behind.

  2. Yorkshire lose a runpublished at 16:29 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Yorks 449 v Warwicks 244 & 21-2

The BBC commentary team tell us that Yorkshire's first innings total has been amended down to 449. Apparently a run has been taken off Steve Patterson, so his score was 18.

Meanwhile, the first over after tea brings only a single for Dom Sibley. Warwickshire trail by 184.

Leicestershire are slipping towards a three-day defeat, with Harry Swindells caught and bowled by Matthew Waite for a duck from the final ball before tea,

Teenager Rehan Ahmed is 16 not out but he only has the tail to bat with now and the visitors are still 304 behind.

Dillon Pennington has been the pick of the Worcestershire attack, with 3-30 from 10 overs so far.

    Lancashire 103 & 65-3 f/o v Essex 391

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

Three wickets in the afternoon session have maintained Essex’s grip on this contest after they made Lancashire follow on 288 behind.

Keaton Jennings was bowled off an inside edge by Jamie Porter, Simon Harmer had Josh Bohannon caught at short leg and Luke Wells, to his own amazement, hit a short ball from Sam Cook straight into the hands of square leg.

The Essex attack has not found success easy this season on some flat pitches but this one has proved tailor made for them, particularly Harmer who went into this match taking his wickets at 60 a time.

He is enjoying the turn and bounce and could yet bowl Essex to victory this evening. Lancashire can’t afford to lose more wickets in the final session.

  7. Tea at Nottinghampublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Notts 358 v Derbyshire 260 & 138-6

Lyndon James took a big wicket just before the interval to remove Wayne Madsen who had just reached his half-century.

James has two wickets, along with Dane Paterson, and Notts will be looking to bowl Derbyshire out during the evening session.

Derbyshire have a lead of 40.

  8. Tea at Northamptonpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Northants 212-4 v Kent 519-9 dec

Good batting by Luke Procter and Rob Keogh, who has so far shared a stand of 78 for Northants following the exit of Ricardo Vasconcelos for 71.

Kent's bowlers are finding the pitch just as unresponsive as their hosts and Procter (52) and Keogh (35) have both hit a six off spinner George Linde.

The home side are still 307 behind so there is a lot to do to avert the follow-on, with four sessions left in the game.

Tea at Headingley and what a sickener for Warwickshire from the final ball of the session as Rob Yates lobs a catch to a diving Tom Loten at mid-off.

The reigning champions are 186 behind with eight wickets remaining after another good session for Yorkshire.

They added 81 to their 369-7 at lunch, with Matthew Revis hitting an unbeaten 53, including a six and eight fours.

  10. HAMPSHIRE WIN BY 10 WICKETSpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Somerset 211 & 69 v Hampshire 280 & 1-0

Felix Organ takes a single off Peter Siddle and that completes the formalities - Hampshire secure a highly impressive victory.

They bowled Somerset out in the afternoon session - a little over two hours - thanks to a blistering bowling display from Keith Barker, with support from Mohammad Abbas and Kyle Abbott.

Barker is now the leading wicket-taker in Division One with 27. Somerset simply found him unplayable.

A fourth win from six games takes Hampshire above Lancashire and up to second, while it's a fourth defeat in six games for Somerset.

    Notts 358 v Derbyshire 260 & 138-5

Wayne Madsen flicks James Pattinson to fine leg for four and a square cut two balls later takes him to a 71-ball half-century. This is a vital contribution for his side, whose lead is only 40.

SOMERSET ALL OUT FOR 69published at 15:56 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Davey b Barker 7 (Somerset 211 & 69 v Hampshire 280)

Rather fittingly it's Keith Barker who wraps the innings up.

He bowls Josh Davey to finish on figures of 6-27 from 13 overs.

The scores are level so Hampshire will have to bat again - albeit extremely briefly.

  14. 50 runs

for Luke Procterpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Northants 201-4 v Kent 519-9 dec

Luke Procter follows the lead of Yorkshire's Matthew Revis by reaching 50 with a six. It's a magnificent straight blow off George Linde and brings up the half-century from 145 balls faced.

    Leach c Gubbins b Abbott 0 (Somerset 211 & 65-9 v Hampshire 280)

Hampshire had four slips in place as Kyle Abbott sent the ball down to Jack Leach, but he actually slotted it to Nick Gubbins at cover.

One to go for Hampshire to wrap things up.

Did anyone see this coming when we started after lunch?

Somerset have lost nine wickets in two hours.

  16. Latham in excellent formpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Sussex v New Zealand 193-1 - tea

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Another comfortable session for New Zealand with both Tom Latham and Will Young reaching undefeated half centuries before retiring.

Latham in particular looked in excellent form, timing the ball beautifully on what looks an excellent batting surface.

The only wicket to fall was that of Hamish Rutherford, who was brilliantly caught by Mohammed Rizwan fielding at mid off

Derbyshire have built up a lead of 18 runs but now fund themselves five down.

    Mulder b Waite 24 (Worcs 577-6 dec v Leics 148 & 125-5)

    Oh dear, oh dear.

Wiaan Mulder pads up to a ball from Matthew Waite, which cuts back off the seam and clips off stump.

The South African is on his way and Worcestershire need five more wickets for a three-day win.

  20. Postpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Yorks 450 v Warwicks 244 & 16-1

Technical adjustments made by Dom Sibley pay off as he strokes Steve Patterson past mid-off for four. Warwickshire need a big innings from the England opener if they are to hang on in this game.
