    Gloucestershire v Hampshire 170-1

Nick Gubbins and Felix Organ have brought up the 50 partnership for the second wicket for Hampshire. Organ is now on 73.

They seem determined to lay the platform for a very big first innings total.

Rob Keogh has moved to 34 with five boundaries, as he tries to play the lead role for Northants.

  5. 'Lancashire have stuck at it'published at 15:22 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Northants 134-5 v Lancashire

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

There has been a strong breeze blowing down the ground from the Pavilion end of the ground all day, but it’s not really bringing much relief. It’s like standing in front of a giant hairdryer.

Dane Vilas has only won one toss all season in the Championship and I’m sure his players were giving him a pep talk beforehand saying ‘this is the day, skip.’

Sadly for Lancashire, his poor tossing record continues and under the circumstances they’ve bowled well. They have stuck at it, on an uncomfortable afternoon.

  6. wicket

WICKET Davies c Crawley b Henry 5published at 15:20 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Warwickshire 12-2 v Kent 165

Matt Henry may have fancied this after watching Ollie Hannon-Dalby's efforts this morning and he shows why.

A crackerjack of a delivery, he squares up Alex Davies and with a hint of movement, the edge flies into Zak Crawley's hands low down at second slip.

    A terrific riposte from Kent.

  7. 100 runs

for Haseeb Hameedpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Derbyshire v Notts 233-1

Just moments after Ben Duckett reached three figures, Haseeb Hameed tucks George Scrimshaw away for a single and brings up his own hundred off 153 balls.

Like his partner, it's his third of the season and Hameed has also passed 700 Championship runs for the season in this innings.

  8. 100 runs

for Ben Duckettpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Derbyshire v Notts 224-1

Ben Duckett comes down the track and flicks a Mattie McKiernan full toss away for four to reach a 118-ball century. It's the left-hander's third Championship hundred of the season and 22nd of his career.

    Over to you, Haseeb Hameed.

  9. wicket

WICKET Sibley c Billings b Milnes 5published at 15:16 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Warwickshire 10-1 v Kent 165

Matt Milnes has the first one for Kent.

He produces a beauty to get the edge of Dominic Sibley's bat and Sam Billings does the rest.

Essential for Kent and they need a few more wickets with the new ball.

  10. Postpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Surrey v Essex 153-6

Essex pass 150 as Adam Rossington jams the bat down on an inswinging Kemar Roach yorker and the ball runs away past gully's left hand for four runs.

  11. Hampshire wake away from siestapublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Gloucestershire v Hampshire 138-1

Two fine strokes from Nick Gubbins off Zahar Gofar as Hampshire try to show more intent after tea.

The 90 minutes after lunch would have been ideal for a siesta!

  12. Division Two latestpublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Derbyshire v Notts 215-1

They are on a drinks break in Derby. Haseeb Hameed is 95 not out, Ben Duckett has 96 - both just one blow away from a century.

  13. Postpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Gloucestershire v Hampshire 130-1

A lovely stroke from Felix Organ takes him into the sixties. He's now 61 not out.

The Hampshire opener has 23 overs left today to try to get to three figures.

  14. Postpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Surrey v Essex 147-6

Another over ticks by at The Oval and it's a maiden from Kemar Roach to Simon Harmer. Just three runs from the last three.

  15. Tea at Northamptonpublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Northants 134-5 v Lancashire

Three wickets in the session for Lancashire, who will be well pleased after Northants opted to bat this morning.

The home side have had players get in and get out and they could do with a big contribution from someone on what looks a good pitch.

  16. wicket

WICKET Rickelton lbw b Sundar 22published at 14:57 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Northants 124-5 v Lancashire

A second wicket for Washington Sundar as he traps Ryan Rickelton in front.

The ball might have been going down as Rickelton tried to work it to leg, but the decision is final.

    Another useful wicket for Lancashire.

  17. wicket

WICKET Quinn c Miles b Briggs 1published at 14:55 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

Warwickshire v Kent 165 all out

Last man Matt Quinn does not hang around. He tries to hit the left-arm spin of Danny Briggs over the top but does not clear Craig Miles at mid-off.

The end of a very poor batting display. Put in on a pitch with a green twinge, to only last 40 overs is not much to write home about.

Ollie Hannon-Dalby's 6-40 was the standout.

And my sincere apologies to Warwickshire captain Will Rhodes. You were right to bowl first. I was wrong.

  18. Play to restart at 15:30 BST at Tauntonpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Somerset 99-2 v Yorkshire

Good news, they'll restart in about 40 minutes at Somerset.

  19. Tea at Cheltenhampublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Gloucestershire v Hampshire 123-1

While those Kent wickets were falling, tea has been called at Cheltenham.

A shortened session of 24 overs for 44 runs for the loss of Ian Holland. Quiet cricket.

  20. wicket

WICKET Saini c Hain b Brookes 0published at 14:48 British Summer Time 19 July 2022

    Warwickshire v Kent 164-9

Navdeep Saini lasts three balls and it's a second wicket in the over for Henry Brookes.

Saini goes to leave it but forgets to move the bat and it is guided into the hands of Sam Hain at second slip. Catching practise.

Warwickshire will be batting soon enough.
