Rain stops playpublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 19 July 2022
Somerset 99-2 v Yorkshire
Rain arrived as expected during the lunch interval at Taunton and so there will be a delay.
Seven games: five in Division One, two in Division Two
Division One leaders Surrey at home to Essex
Second-placed Hampshire play Gloucestershire at Cheltenham
Notts, leaders of Div Two, away to Derbyshire in East Midlands derby
Adam Lanigan and Gary Smee
Somerset 99-2 v Yorkshire
Rain arrived as expected during the lunch interval at Taunton and so there will be a delay.
Middlesex v Sussex 68-1
Adrian Harms
BBC Sussex
On a boiling hot day in the capital it seemed a strange decision for Middlesex to win the toss and field.
And that decision looks to have backfired, as Sussex reach lunch losing just the one wicket.
Tom Clark who is opening in the absence of injured skipper Tom Haines has batted throughout the session, and has added an unbroken half century partnership with Tom Alsop.
Whilst Sussex will be pleased with their start, runs have been difficult to come by, and a couple of wickets could alter the complexion of the game.
Gloucestershire v Hampshire 84-0
Back under way at Cheltenham where Felix Organ hits Zafar Gohar to the boundary to bring up his 50 off 71 balls.
He will be eyeing up a big one from here.
Somerset 99-2 v Yorkshire
Just about an even morning session at Taunton.
Matt Renshaw had raced to 43 before he was trapped lbw by Matthew Waite, but Somerset skipper Tom Abell and George Bartlett saw them through to lunch.
Warwickshire v Kent 96-5
Oliver Hannon-Dalby took all five wickets to fall this morning, but Jordan Cox and Sam Billings have launched a bit of a fightback for Kent with a fifty stand.
Warwickshire are still on top though.
Surrey v Essex 91-6
And that caps a superb morning for Division One leaders Surrey.
Matt Critchley plays a loose drive at a ball outside off stump from Kemar Roach and gets an inside edge onto the stumps.
Essex are six down as lunch is taken.
Surrey v Essex 83-5
HUGE wicket for Surrey just before lunch.
Alastair Cook edges Jamie Overton to slip where Ollie Pope pulls off an excellent diving catch in front of first slip.
That's the batter the Division One leaders wanted.
Somerset 89-2 v Yorkshire
While most of the country bakes, there's some rain approaching Taunton.
Hopefully it'll clear through in the lunch break.
Warwickshire v Kent 92-5
Talking of steadying ships, Jordan Cox and Sam Billings are doing the same for Kent at Warwickshire.
They've taken the visitors from 43-5 to 92-5 at Edgbaston.
Surrey v Essex 71-4
Alastair Cook and Matt Critchley have just steadied things for Essex after that flurry of wickets from Dan Worrall.
Big 10 minutes coming up before lunch for the pair as Surrey try and sniff out a fifth wicket.
Just a reminder that they're only playing 90 minute sessions at Cheltenham and Northampton today because of the extreme heat.
The other five games will still go to lunch at 13:00 BST and have normal playing hours.
Northants 63-2 v Lancashire
An interesting 90 minutes in Northampton, where Lancashire have eked out a couple of useful wickets in Will Young and Ricardo Vasconcelos.
But Emilio Gay has five fours and a six in his 32 and he is showing plenty of intent to take the game to the bowlers.
Gloucestershire v Hampshire 79-0
There is a lovely hum around the ground at Cheltenham where it is now time for lunch.
Felix Organ is 48 not out and partner Ian Holland has 22 as Hampshire can feel satisfied with how the shorter 90-minute session has gone.
Somerset 66-2 v Yorkshire
Matt Renshaw had looked in fine touch but he falls to a lovely inswinger from Matt Waite.
The left-hander falls over slightly as he tries to clip the Yorkshire paceman into the leg-side and is struck on the pad. Out.
Northants 52-2 v Lancashire
We need a new ball at Wantage Road!
Emilio Gay has just launched Washington Sundar for an enormous six after coming down the track. The ball has gone so far that it has got stuck in a slate above the broadcast gantry.
It can't be reached and so a box of balls comes out to find a replacement.
Surrey v Essex 54-4
The collapse continues at The Oval!
Dan Worrall takes his third wicket in five balls as Paul Walter gloves a rising delivery to short leg.
Essex are in all sorts of trouble now as Matt Critchley joins Alastair Cook in the middle.
Leaders Notts have lost Ben Slater for 12 at Derbyshire, but they're still in a good position on 72-1. Haseeb Hameed has 39.
Sussex are also doing okay with the bat against Middlesex at Lord's on 55-1.
Just the two games in Division Two today.
Northants 44-2 v Lancashire
Ricardo Vasconcelos has given it away here.
Luke Wood bustles in but drops a touch short and wide, yet Vasconcelos guides it to Rob Jones at second slip. It was almost the sort of thing you would do in catching practice before play starts.
A useful start for the Red Rose.
Surrey v Essex 50-3
Dan Lawrence goes first ball!
Dan Worrall smacks the England batter on the pad and up goes the finger.
Paul Walter survives the hat-trick ball but Worrall has turned this game on its head in the space of two deliveries.
Surrey v Essex 50-2
Surrey paceman Dan Worrall gets one through Tom Westley and the ball clatters into the stumps.
But wait, there's more...
