    Lancs 276 & 196-2 v Yorks 155

Luke Wells reaped the benefit of hitting straight during his innings.

Josh Bohannon - by contrast - tries to slog across the line from a ball by Dom Bess and it's a comfortable stumping for Tom Kohler-Cadmore.

Lancashire can't afford a loss of momentum at this stage. There are 17 overs left as Steven Croft joins Keaton Jennings.

We asked you whether Keaton Jennings deserves a Test recall after reaching 1,000 Championship runs this season for Lancashire. Here are a couple of opinions.

Mike: "Jennings should take the winter tours over Crawley. Got the runs and can play spin in the sub-continent. Horses for courses and give Crawley some time to find some form #bbccricket, external"

Shaun: "#bbccricket, external I think with the form that Lees and Crawley have been in replacements do need to be made soon. Keaton Jennings has definitely got to be in the conversation along with others like Compton, Brook and Hain."

    Somerset 248 v Gloucs 343 & 196-3 - lead by 291

Bracey drives Lammony firmly to mid off but the ball is stopped by George Bartlett.

That's 14 overs for just 10 runs for the left arm bowler.

Hammond is down the track to Khan and chips the bowler over his head for a single to long on.

Bracey gets his off the mark with a drive through the off side for a single.

  4. wicket

WICKET Young c Donald b Holland 20published at 17:10 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Hants 400-9d v Northants 175 & 98-1

    Hampshire make the breakthrough!

Ian Holland has done the trick and Will Young is gone.

He’s got one to just straighten a fraction and graze the outside edge through to the keeper.

Lovely delivery and Hampshire have their wicket just when a few heads were being scratched.

    Glamorgan 222-6 v Worcs 454-9 dec

Shubman Gill is continuing serenely for Glamorgan and a single from Joe Leach's latest over takes him to 88 not out.

There isn't enough time left in the game for the Welsh county to pull off a victory to boost their promotion hopes - but they will be very satisfied by the debut innings of the India opener.

Can he go on and complete a century?

    Somerset 248 v Gloucs 343 & 194-3 lead by 289

James Bracey is the new batter for Gloucestershire.

A no ball spoils an otherwise tidy and productive over from Lammonby.

Khan is flighting the ball nicely outside off stump and Hammond cannot get the ball away.

He tries a reverse sweep and the ball misses the stumps by a coat of varnish.

  7. wicket

WICKET Wells c Fraine b Bess 124published at 16:58 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Lancs 276 & 186-1 v Yorks 255

A quite brilliant innings comes to an end as Luke Wells swings Dom Bess away but doesn't get enough elevation and Will Fraine takes the catch just inside the rope at mid-wicket.

Wells faced 82 balls, hit six sixes and 11 fours and together, he and Keaton Jennings have revived Lancashire's chances of winning this game.

    The lead is 207.

  8. wicket

WICKET Charlesworth c Gregory b Lammonby 64published at 16:55 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Somerset 248 v Gloucs 343 & 192-3 - lead by 287

Somerset are miles ahead of the required over rate - but the close of play should be fixed for 6pm nonetheless.

Out! Charlesworth drives outside off and edges to Gregory, waist high at first slip

That's 64 runs for the opener off 207 balls.

  9. wicket

WICKET Watt c Maddinson b Coughlin 1published at 16:55 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Derbys 306 & 161-7 v Durham 223

Two wickets in successive overs for Durham.

Paul Coughlin discomfits Mark Watt by banging it in from round the wicket and the left-hander can only paddle an easy catch to Nic Maddinson running in from short fine leg.

  10. wicket

WICKET Stewart c Browne b Cook 6published at 16:54 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Kent 164 & 68-6 fo v Essex 573

A sixth wicket for Sam Cook!

But a poor dismissal from Grant Stewart, driving a full ball to cover.

26 overs for Kent to try and get this done tonight.

  11. wicket

WICKET Came c Dickson b Trevaskis 6published at 16:52 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Derbys 306 & 159-6 v Durham 223

Three in the innings now for Durham spinner Liam Trevaskis as Harry Came comes down the pitch and drills a catch to cover.

Derbyshire are 242 ahead as Mark Watt joins Anuj Dal.

    Somerset 248 v Gloucs 343 & 189-2- lead by 284

Charlesworth is playing plenty of punchy drives but he keeps finding Tom Abell in the field.

He gets a single off the last ball. A rare short ball from Lammonby is pulled to deep mid wicket for one more.

The floodlights are on now. A sweet drive by Hammond is again blocked by Tom Abell.

The last ball is driven to the same fielder, but this time the ball bounces awkwardly and evades him for two runs.

    Lancs 276 & 170-0 v Yorks 255

Hot on the heels of his 50 comes another special moment for Keaton Jennings as he reaches 1,000 Championship runs for the season.

He has four hundreds to to go with two half-centuries - will England consider him for a recall this winter if Zak Crawley and Alex Lees don't make runs in the third Test against South Africa?

  15. 50 runs

for Emilio Gaypublished at 16:44 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Hants 400-9d v Northants 175 & 75-0 fo

A brisk fifty here from Emilio Gay to give Northants a great start to their second innings.

A counterpunching 73-ball knock with nine fours.

Can he go on here and give the visitors some hope for tomorrow?

This opening stand is now larger than the first innings.

    Hampshire won’t be nervous yet.

  16. Postpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Derbys 306 & 155-5 v Durham 223

Play has resumed following rain at the Incora County Ground.

Harry Came is on three and Anuj Dal has one - and Derbyshire lead by 238.

  17. Postpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Somerset 248 v Gloucs 343 & 184-2- lead by 279

Sajid Khan is into his 24th over - by far the biggest workload for any Somerset bowler in this innings.

Charlesworth is down the pitch to the off spinner but he can't clear mid on. A play and a miss to the last ball outside off stump.

Lammonby teases Hammond outside off stump and his third ball is driven to over for one.

Charlesworth plays down the wrong line and the ball is squeezed out (safely) to backward point.

    A minimum of 19 overs left .

He's been the supporting act in this innings but Keaton Jennings follows his first-innings century with 50 off 70 balls, which he brings up with a six off Matthew Waite.

It was just short of a length and he flayed it away over mid-wicket.

  19. Postpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

Yorkshire have finally turned to George Hill, who took 6-26 in Lancashire's first innings.

Can he keep these two quiet, or better still - from a White Rose perspective - get one of them out?

It's a decent over to start with, just three from it.

  20. Lammonby back in the attackpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Somerset 248 v Gloucs 343 & 183-2- lead by 278

His first spell cost only six runs off five overs.

A hint of movement on a tight line just outside off stump.

The fifth ball is wider and cut to point for two by Hammond. No more runs off the over.
