    Lancs 276 v Yorks 137-4

Tom Kohler-Cadmore hits the first boundary of day three in the Roses match - but it's a streaky one.

A wide ball from Will Williams induces a wild slash but the ball clears the slips and runs away to third man.

    TKC is 30 not out.

    Somerset 213-9 v Gloucs 343

Sajid Khan picks up his first boundary with a drive through the covers off Payne.

Gone! Khan bends back to square leg and tries to uppercut the ball, edging to the keeper.

He's cross. He doesn't think he hit it. Last batter is Jack Brooks.

  3. wicket

WICKET Gibson c Godleman b Conners 0published at 10:40 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Derbys 306 v Durham 223

An airy waft by Ollie Gibson, a catch to cover and Durham's first innings comes to an early end - their last six wickets falling for just 27 runs.

Sam Conners finishes with 4-55 - another fine performance by the promising young paceman.

  4. Somerset resume first inningspublished at 10:40 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Somerset 209-8 v Gloucs 343

Phew. The clouds look benign. Just 10 minutes lost - for now.

Plenty of work to do for Sajid Khan (12 not out) and James Rew (35 not out) as the hosts begin day three 134 behind on first innings.

Both players were dropped in the field yesterday.

Both have scored first class centuries. Just saying.

David Payne to bowl the first over of the day.

    Kent 74-4 v Essex 573

The rain has quickly moved through in the south east and only a 10 minute delay.

  10. Raining at Canterburypublished at 10:26 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Kent 74-4 v Essex 573

Start delayed at Canterbury - which has escaped most of the delays elsewhere in the country this week.

    It’s raining in Kent.

But the forecast looks clear this afternoon.

Rain delays play at Tauntonpublished at 10:26 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

    Somerset 209-8 v Gloucs 343

    Frustrating times at Taunton.

Both teams need to rack up points to get off the bottom of the table but for now they're stuck in the pavilion following a heavy shower this morning.

Two overs lost. 104 for the day. In theory a 10:40 start.

The forecast looks much better this evening - but then we'd be off for bad light anyway. Sigh.

  12. 'I'm quite good at slogging it' - Donaldpublished at 10:24 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

Hampshire 400-9 dec v Northants 771 (play due to start 10:30)

    Aneurin DonaldImage source, Rex Features

Aneurin Donald hopes Hampshire are not "stuffed by the weather" after batting themselves into a strong position against Northants.

Victory will put them top of Division One, with just two more games to play - anything less would be a boost to current leaders Surrey, who are not playing this week.

Donald made 94 off 84 balls on day two and said: "Playing positively is something I'm good at. You go through peaks and troughs with form but I've come full circle and realised I'm quite good at slogging it - so let's stick with that!"

He added: "It was important we moved on quickly as a team and individual scores are irrelevant. It would have been nice to have my name up on the board (for a hundred) again though."

Lancashire 276 v Yorkshire 130-4 (play due to start 10:30)

    Finlay BeanImage source, Rex Features

Yorkshire debutant Finlay Bean revealed how he was 'lost' to cricket for two years after scoring 42 on day two of the Roses match at Old Trafford.

Bean hit 441 against Nottinghamshire in a second XI game earlier this summer, propelling him to the fringe of the first team.

"I came up though the Yorkshire set-up, went out of the game for two years to work as a mechanic but then Tim Boon and Tom Smith got me back in," he told BBC West Yorkshire Sport.

"It’s a bit different to the Saturday cricket (for York CC) I’m used to but it’s nice to be out there and see where I need to be for the future."

Somerset 209-8 v Gloucestershire 343 (play due to start 10:30)

    Tom PriceImage source, Rex Features

Gloucestershire paceman Tom Price has a five-for in his sights on the third morning of their derby game with Somerset at Taunton.

The 22-year-old was the pick of their attack on day two, claiming 4-49 from 18 overs.

"The pitch might slow down a bit over the next couple of days but there a few areas where Ollie Price got couple to spin and a few kept low so there might be a bit there for us," he said.

"At the moment I don’t think we have any number in mind about what we might set them. We just want to bowl them out quickly and then play it one ball at a time.”

  16. 'I back myself to bat a long time' - Khushipublished at 10:10 British Summer Time 7 September 2022

Kent 74-4 v Essex 573 (play due to start at 10:30)

    Feroze KhushiImage source, Rex Features

Positive thinking paid off for Essex batter Feroze Khushi as his 164 led them to a big first-innings total against Kent.

After resuming on 46, his maiden first-class hundred featured two sixes and 18 fours and he was the last man out after five and three quarter hours at the crease.

"The first ball came off well and I was able to get to fifty early. I was thinking positive and hitting them nicely and that builds your confidence," he told BBC Essex Sport.

"I back myself to bat a long time, I think I’ve got a pretty good temperament."
