So where does that leave us? Well Ireland now join Scotland and Zimbabwe on two points, with Zimbabwe top of the table courtesy of their superior net run rate.

They take on West Indies later this morning. If West Indies win it will mean all four sides on two points and two huge matches on Friday to decide which two sides will make it through to the Super12s.

Ireland captain Andy Balbirnie: "It was pretty special. I can't remember an important a partnership as that. All year we have played pretty good cricket. There's been times when we have been out of games and came out throwing punches and maybe just fell short. So to get over the line is great and was a pretty special knock from Curtis and George. Hopefully we can take that into Friday."

Scotland captain Richie Berrington: "I thought Michael Jones was superb today all the way through the innings. A couple of other guys chipped in as well so we were happy. We may have missed a few runs towards the back end but we knew if we bowled well we would give ourselves a chance.

"The boys upfront were excellent getting those early wickets. But you have to give credit to Curtis Campher and George Dockrell. It was a brilliant partnership and an exceptional knock from Curtis, so credit to them.

"We know from last year these groups are never straightforward so we will learn from today, reflect and come back strong in the last game."

Ireland batter Curtis Campher: "We had a clear game plan to try and take the game deep and I was lucky it was my day.

"The way George and I approached it, we went hard in the middle. After the ninth or 10th over we got a bit of momentum and tried to maintain it for as long as we could.

"I'm just happy to help the team. They are a great bunch of lads. We have gone up the gears in the last 12 months. So I'm happy it has come together now."

For three-quarters of the game, the Scots were on top. But Scotland didn't score much off their last two overs - another 10 runs there, how crucial would that have been?

That is the shot of the day for me. That was really full - Sharif would've been hoping for a dot or a single at worst and Campher has hit it for a one-bounce four.
