He just didn't get it high enough. His intention was right but he picked the wrong ball.

Kane Williamson couldn't believe it. He took the catch and didn't have to move.

    The skipper goes!

Aaron Finch tries to repeat the Marsh loft over extra cover but can't get the elevation. He picks out his opposite number Kane Williamson, who is knocked over backwards taking the catch in his belly.

Good, very good from Marsh. Over extra cover for six. Miles back. 10th six of the match already.

Nice shot by Mitchell Marsh. Got down on one knee and managed to hit it nicely away from the man closest to the umpire.

  8. Aus 23-1published at 3.3 overs

    Target 201

I say spin, but it's more skid from the left-armer. The new ball won't turn much. Marsh sweeps for four, then is lucky an inside edge saves him from getting bowled. Tense.

    Spin. Mitchell Santner.

It's fascinating watching Finch, who is clearly battling with his game. Yes, he can whack the ball into the stands, but when Boult examines off stump and around, Finch is feeling for it, like a man searching for his car keys in a dark room.

As an aside, Aaron Finch is wearing boots that have flashes of teal. A new one for me.

A monster. Aaron Finch has swung like a heavyweight boxer. Trent Boult has gone about 30 rows back over mid-wicket. They will have fetch that back from Surry Hills.

I honestly think Tim Southee could swing a satsuma around a catcus. It's hooping.

In fact, Warner inside-edged on to his thigh, then it looped up, then it hit the back of the bat.

He was bowled after it hit the bat twice.

Mitchell Marsh is the new man.

    WICKETpublished at 1.1 overs

    Warner b Southee 5 (Aus 5-1)

    Can you believe this?

David Warner has been bowled, somehow, off the back of his bat. He was getting down low to swipe/sweep Tim Southee, it hit the body, looped up, hit the back of the bat and came back down on to the stumps. Neither Warner nor Southee could do that again if they tried.

    Huge wicket.
