Target 158
Barry McCarthy is the new bowler. You don't get many Barrys these days, do you? They used to be everywhere.
England, chasing 158, reach 105-5 off 14.3 overs when rain arrives and no further play possible
Ireland win by five runs on Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method
Both sides have now won one, lost one
Ire 157 (19.2 overs): Balbirnie 62 (47); Livingstone 3-17, Wood 3-34

It's important that England keep up the scoring rate. The last thing they want is to be 30-2 and then need 10 an over for the last 10 overs. But at this stage, I'm still in favour of England.
Target 158
I should stress that it's a picture of the DLS sheet. Getting the actual piece of paper here in that time would not be possible...
Target 158
Ben Stokes is the new man.
Matt Henry has just sent me the DLS sheet from Melbourne. It's the most useful thing he's ever done.

An extra bit of pace from Little. He does have that skiddy pace. It hit high on the bat and it's a good catch in the end.
Hales c Adair b Little 7 (Eng 14-2)
The drop only costs two runs and Ireland have another from the next ball!
Pace from Josh Little, top edge from Alex Hales, held at short fine leg by Mark Adair.
Trouble for England, real hope for Ireland.

It was struck hard but it was a one-handed effort. He could easily have gone with two and it bursts through. Ireland can't afford those mistakes.
Eng 14-1
Down!
How big might that be?
Slashed at point by Alex Hales, but Gareth Delany can only push it over the bar.
Target 158
That's a bit harsh on Scotland.
Hales gets England's first boundary with a short-arm pull through mid-on.

How has that missed? Malan's facial expression says it all. That's quite clever bowling. He's taken it away from him and then turned the ball around and brought that one back into him.
Target 158
How has that not bowled him?
Mark Adair to Dawid Malan, swing back into the left-hander. I swear that's gone through the stumps.
Not easy, this.

I think there will be changes made to the England side throughout this tournament. I just can't see this England bowling line-up surviving against a bigger nation. Saying that it is one-off matches rather than a series.
Target 158
The only previous time these two sides have met in a T20 World Cup, England were saved by the rain. They went on to win the trophy.

I don't mean to alarm anyone but there's a dark cloud heading our way. Keep an eye on the DLS score, which was 12 after the first over.
Target 158
First run off the bat is a single off the final ball of the first over.
Target 158
Dawid Malan is the new man. A wide first up.

It was a full ball from Little, very, very full. Jos Buttler probably expected it to swing back but it didn't and just went across him. A fine nick.
I don't think England are in trouble with all the batting they've got but it will get Ireland's tails up.
Buttler c Tucker b Little 0 (Eng 0-1)
Cat, here are the pigeons.
Jos Buttler, England's captain and the best white-ball batter in the world, goes second ball for a duck. Full and wide from Josh Little, Buttler aiming a slashing drive, but only edging through to Lorcan Tucker.
Left-armer Josh Little has the ball. It's only late afternoon in Melbourne, but the floodlights are on.
