  1. 6 runs

Fire 16-0published at 90 balls left

    143 runs needed

Six! Top shot from Joe Clarke as he powers the ball over long on!

Six more! This time it is straight as an arrow back over the bowler's head!

The Invincibles decision to go with spin early does not pay off, Danny Briggs is taking some punishment.

  2. Fire 3-0published at 95 balls left

    156 runs needed

There is a hint of swing for Curran when he goes full to Clarke, a little too full, a low full toss in fact.

Clarke can't beat the in-field though. Just three from a tidy first set of five from Curran.

It will be interesting to see if Sam Curran can find any swing movement. He is renowned for having a very good seam position and it will be interesting to see if he can cause any issues early on.

  4. Fire 1-0published at 99 balls left

    158 runs needed

Sam Curran will bowl the first set for the Invincibles and Clarke defends the first ball into the covers and scampers through for a single. The Fire chase is up and running.

It is a very competitive total. It was a massively impressive how Will Jacks dug in. He worked his way through nicely and really exploded towards the back end.

Here we go then! The Invincibles fielders are out there and here come Tom Banton and Joe Clarke for the Fire.

159 needed to win, this should be fun!

    Thanks, Tim.

That was some knock from Will Jacks. Will it be the match-winning innings? Welsh Fire will certainly hope not and they've got enough power-hitters in their line-up to make sure it isn't.

Lydia mentioned Tom Banton and Ollie Pope are two key players, I would proffer David Miller as another. The South African is more than capable of getting a side over the line in a testing chase.

Well, that was pretty entertaining and the second dig might be too, so here's Sam Drury to take you through it.

Tom Banton and Ollie Pope will be key for Welsh Fire in this chase. Pope is not as destructive but that is probably not a bad thing on this wicket - he can manoeuvre the ball and pick the gaps and he'll be crucial against someone like Sunil Narine.

Will Jacks paced his innings really well. Even in this short format there is still something to be said for assessing the conditions and earning the right to go on and play like he did.

He played brilliantly and he's done a very good job for the Invincibles.

  12. Invincibles 158-5published at 100 balls

And off the final delivery Tom Curran hooks Higgins to long leg, ensuring he and his fellow bowlers will have a good total to defend.

Oval Invincibles would be a very different position without Will Jacks, he's made the difference.

The run map shows Will Jacks scored 81 with 4 sixes, 7 fours, 2 two, and 25 singles for Oval Invincibles Men

    WICKETpublished at 99 balls

    Jacks c Duckett b Higgins 81 (Invincibles 154-5)

End of a fine knock as he finds the longest boundary, but straight into Ben Duckett's hands.

Invincibles have done pretty well here considering where they were.

Will Jacks has been absolutely brilliant. It is just power and brute force.

  17. Invincibles 154-4published at 98 balls

Ryan Higgins takes the last set but a slower one is despatched straight into the black covering behind him by Jacks, who then drives for four past cover next up.

  18. Invincibles 143-4published at 95 blls

That was a sloppy set from Ball - no ball and wides, and they are over time now as well.

  19. 6 runs

Invincibles 142-4published at 15:15 British Summer Time 7 August 2022

Jacks slams Ball over long on for another six - Lydia, they'll have a bit more than 140 and that could be a really good score on this pitch.

If Oval Invincibles can squeeze in a few boundaries they should get a fair bit above 140.
