A decent set from David Payne that neither Jacks nor Curran get away for anything more than scrambled singles.

They are taking a strategic timeout with 30 deliveries to go.

The Invincibles have got a long batting line-up so I think they should be quite brave in the next couple of sets, get a few boundaries to push up to a competitive total.

  3. Invincibles 77-3published at 65 balls

This is really good from Adam Zampa, the Australian has just not given any Invincibles batter anything to go aerial with.

What sort of total are we looking at? 120?

Adam Zampa's bowling: 13% full, 80% good length and 7% short. 15 balls, 5 dots, went for 13 runs, took 0 wickets with an economy of 0.87 runs per ball.
  4. Invincibles 73-3published at 60 balls

Colin is right about that straight hit in Cardiff but these bowlers have hardly given the Invincibles' batters the chance to hit it straight.

Great bit of innovation from Sam Curran. That's his first boundary.

There's always a bit of banter about who can hit the ball furthest into the River Taff. It's not the biggest hit in the world. I dare say there are some bragging rights.

  7. Invincibles 72-3published at 59 balls

I'm no stranger to facial hair, but that is one impressive 'tache from George Scrimshaw, who is back in the attack but conceding another four as Curran touches him down to fine leg.

That was a good shot, a short, rising delivery but Jacks was equal to it. A great bit of timing there, up on his toes.

    Gadzooks! A boundary!

Higgins drops short outside off and Jacks slaps him high over point for four.

Jason Roy's poor trot continued when he was the first to go.

A lot is going to ride on Will Jacks, he's got himself in and last year he was the person that Oval Invincibles looked to for a quick start. I've always thought he was a better player once he's got himself in and he's done that today.

  12. Invincibles 57-3published at 50 balls

So, as Bon Jovi might say, we're halfway there and the Fire are in charge.

In the air and gone, that's the easiest catch he'll take all season... Is it a bump ball? It is, I've gone up with the crowd and it's fooled me!

  15. Invincibles 53-3published at 45 balls

Curran can't get going straight away and drills one into and up out of the ground for a crowd catch at cover point.

Sam Billings looked at Will Jacks and he gave him the nod that it was not worth reviewing.

He's already celebrating, that was a celebrappeal. That's the end of Sam Billings. A painful end but he might be quite pleased to get off and properly reflect on what's happened in the last five balls.

    Billings lbw b Higgins 14 (Invincibles 51-3)

And after all that grief, he's out!

Full and straight from Higgins, but Billings, maybe a bit discombobulated, played all across it and was, as they say absolutely plumb.

    Sam Curran is in next.

  19. Invincibles 51-2published at 40 balls

Billings is OK to carry on after quite a long break.

There's a lot of looking down his trousers and counting from Sam Billings. He's still not got his helmet on but it looks like he's going to be OK.
