This is a tough job for Jason Roy in his first game as captain. He has hardly ever captained any match of cricket before let alone in front of a packed Oval crowd. He will be feeling the pressure now.

It is such a fast game, you have to make so many decisions. I found it more difficult to captain last year than T20s.

Lyth closes in on his half-century by cutting the ball behind square for four as Tom Curran offers up some width.

A single brings Pepper on strike and he middles a cover drive to end the over, fantastic timing and the ball rockets away to the boundary.

Milnes comes back well and nearly has Pepper caught in the deep last ball. However, it just drops short of the fielder and it remains one down.

I reckon The Oval was about 75% full for the beginning of this game. It will be interesting to see how the crowd grows and (hopefully doesn't) fall, with the women on second. Tournament organisers will certainly be watching very closely.
