We mentioned how important those five deliveries would be and Michael Hogan nailed every single one apart from the first one.

Brave can only reach 138-7 in reply, despite Whiteley's 52 off 33

That is a good yorker from Michael Hogan.
Thompson b Hogan 3 (Spirit 136-6)
Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. You can't bowl any better. Michael Hogan fires in a yorker - a ball right at Jordan Thompson's toes - and it bowls the left-hander.
Only a single this time.
It's a good comeback from Hogan but Pollard and Thompson still manage to sprint two.

Kieron Pollard hadn't really built up any momentum but he'll have loved that full toss. If he can keep going here Spirit might get up to 160.

That is a bit of a gift from Michael Hogan.
There's one of those boundaries. A gift from Hogan who bowls Kieron Pollard a full toss. He's farrr too good to miss that.
It's not going to be Chris Jordan. It's going to be Michael Hogan to bowl the penultimate set. The Spirit need a few big blows.

If I was James Vince I would let Chris Jordan bowl the next five at the other end too. You have to almost think that if you were trying to defend a total now you'd want your best bowler bowling the penultimate set.
Pollard 16, Thompson 2
Kieron Pollard biffs one, almost kneecapping Chris Jordan as he does, but it's only a single. I feel like the Brave bowlers have done pretty well here.
10 to go.
Spirit's Yorkshire all-rounder Jordan Thompson is next in.
The left-hander biffs his first ball for a single. He can hit 'em.

That was such great presence of mind, firstly from the fielder, and then from Chris Jordan to chuck the ball onto the stumps. How many times do we see the bowler miss the stumps from there?

That is a great bit of work in the field and it was even better from Chris Jordan. It was great awareness of where he was.
Bell-Drummond run out Jordan 46 (Spirit 123-5)
He has! A great bit of work from Southern Brave. Daniel Bell-Drummond had battled really well but, trying to steal another single falls. The throw comes in with the Spirit batter halfway down the pitch and bowler Chris Jordan does really well to turn and flick the ball onto the stumps.
Has Daniel Bell-Drummond been run out here? No-one seems very interested...
A quiet five balls from Michael Hogan. With only singles gained. I'm still expecting Kieron Pollard to explode at some point.
Chris Jordan returns.

I like how Pollard has started here. He hasn't fired yet, but he has such a presence.
He could push through a mountain.
London Spirit were wobbling just a little when Glenn Maxwell was out and Eoin Morgan quickly followed.
This partnership of 48 has changed that.

That is cracking cricket.
