  1. Phoenix win the toss and bowl firstpublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 15 August 2022

Lewis Gregory calls wrong and Moeen Ali finally wins the toss and chooses to bowl first.

He's confident in the chasing ability of his side and Gregory admits he too would have bowled. He mentions small boundaries... if I were in the crowd I'd be wearing a helmet.

    Both teams with one change.

Kane Richardson is nursing a niggle so is replaced by Timm van der Gugten at Phoenix. While at Trent Rockets Sam Cook comes in for Luke Fletcher.

Both sides have firepower in their armoury when it comes to hitting big. However, as we saw in the women's game earlier, this Edgbaston pitch is not a road when it comes to a boundary fest.

    I say that...

We've got Liam Livingstone and Will Smeed in orange and Dawid Malan and Alex Hales in yellow. So I could definitely end up eating my words.

It's hard to believe that it was actually less than a week since Will Smeed scored the first Hundred hundred. Since then we've seen a Phoenix fightback against the Welsh Fire before the Trent Rockets dismantled the Originals by hunting down the second highest score in Hundred history.

For the Trent Rockets, it's about continuing that momentum and maintaining an unblemished card. They've won three from three and their incredible work chasing 190 showed the power they have in their batting line up. The only downside in that game was that Dawid Malan was left floundering on 98 not out. If that's you're only negative, then you're probably had a pretty good day out.

Phoenix, on the other hand, had to dig deep against the Welsh Fire in a game that went right down to the wire on Saturday night. When Smeed went without scoring and Livingstone soon after, they scraped 130. But it was their bowlers who came to the party in Cardiff. They strangled the chase and took regular wickets to keep themselves well in contention of a spot in the top three.

  4. Here come the boyspublished at 18:18 British Summer Time 15 August 2022

Time for another? Oh, go on then.

We've already seen Sophie Devine's Phoenix women dismantle the Trent Rockets today. Moeen Ali will hope that his team can give the orange army yet more to celebrate at Edgbaston tonight.

The temperature may have cooled down but the cricket is still red hot.
