Two wickets now for Shabnim Ismail. The first came thanks to a fantastic catch off her own bowling to remove Danni Wyatt.

How good is Ismail? The Invincibles just keep coming at the Brave. She is bowling quick and the Invincibles are coming through.

  3. wicket

    Kemp b Ismail 2 (Brave 89-6)

Brilliant from Ismail. The Brave are crumbling.

First ball back into the attack, Ismail pegs back Freya Kemp's off stump. Too quick, too accurate. Just too good from the South Africa seamer.

She's not had the tournament she might have hoped for but she isn't half finishing strong!

Last year Southern Brave came here and they were in good form all throughout the tournament but it seemed that the occasion overrode them. Is it the same thing happening here?

  5. Brave 89-5published at 85 balls

Really good from Capsey, just four from her last five balls and she finishes with 2-17 from 20 balls.

She thrives on the big occasion. A Lord's final at 18? No problem, done it all before...

Alice Capsey's bowling: 20% full, 75% good length and 5% short. 20 balls, 6 dots, went for 17 runs, took 2 wickets with an economy of 0.85 runs per ball.
  6. A 'proud and tearful' grandfatherpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

Sophia Smale's grandfather Malcolm on BBC Two: "I'm good and all the better to be at this great ground.

"Words can't describe how I feel. It's fantastic. I never ever thought my granddaughter would be playing here.

"It's absolutely wonderful. I can't say how pleased I am - she is a very hard worker, competitive and very determined.

"What's wrong with celebrating? As long as it doesn't go too far or not in the opponents face then there is nothing wrong with celebrating. You want to get wickets and hit a six.

"I remember her as a seven-year-old running down the bank between Newport bowling left-arm and she took to that like a duck to water.

"It makes me feel very proud and tearful. I cant really explain what it means to me to have a granddaughter play on this great ground. I'm extremely proud."

  7. Brave 85-5published at 80 balls

Alice Capsey will bowl through now. Why not after taking two wickets in her last five balls?

Southern Brave are in all sorts of bother. Can Bouchier and Freya Kemp rescue the innings?

You don't want to put it down the throat of Marizanne Kapp, she's catching that one hundred times out of one hundred.

It's well held by Kapp! Two wickets in three balls and that's a big blow for the Southern Brave.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 79 balls

    Adams c Kapp b Capsey 0 (Brave 84-5)

Capsey has another one! The Invincibles have seized control of this innings.

Just the second ball that Georgia Adams faced but she tries to hit high over the leg side, doesn't connect as she'd have liked and Marizanne Kapp takes the catch in the deep.

    From 83-2, it's now 84-5.

What a big moment - Alice Capsey has just got a golden arm. She's someone who just annoyed me last season, you do all the work and she comes on and first or second ball and gets a wicket.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 77 balls

    Dunkley c Winfield-Hill b Capsey 26 (Brave 84-4)

Thick edge and superbly taken. Slightly wider than Capsey might have wanted and that encouraged the cut shot from Sophia Dunkley.

The ball skidded on quickly, though, took the edge and Lauren Winfield-Hill takes a very sharp catch stood up to the stumps.

The two set batters have gone in the space of three balls.

Great stuff from Eva Gray. It's why Invincibles have been so successful. The big names get the plaudits, but the likes to Gray have been so good. She bowls full on the stumps as she has all tournament and she gets her reward.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 75 balls

    McGrath b Gray 20 (Brave 83-3)

Bowled her! The previous ball came off the inside edge and away for four but Tahlia McGrath's luck runs out there.

A superb yorker from Eva Gray, McGrath misses and the ball cannons into the stumps via her back pad.

Breakthrough at a key time for the Invincibles. Maia Bouchier is next in for the Brave.

Southern Brave have got a great platform to build on. They'd have liked to have had their run-rate a little bit higher than that but they've got strength in depth and Dunkley will surely be on the charge.

  17. Brave 78-2published at 71 balls

Eva Gray is into the attack. She's had a brilliant tournament so far but her first ball in the final is smeared through the leg side by Sophia Dunkley. Into the gap for four.

One thing Alice Capsey does really well is vary the pace and watch the batter really carefully.

  19. Brave 74-2published at 70 balls

    Dunkley 21, McGrath 16

A rare misfield from Villiers allows McGrath to take two from the last ball of another wily set from Capsey.

She's mixed things up well and the Brave pair are happy to just tick the score along.

  20. Brave 69-2published at 65 balls

It would be hard for Marizanne Kapp to replicate her match-winning performance from last year's final but, as ever, the South African all-rounder is doing a good job for her side.

Six from that set, more steady building from Dunkley and McGrath. When will they look to really kick things up a notch?
