Not her most convincing shot but it brings up fifty nonetheless for Mooney.
A thick outside edge runs down to the third man fence.

Can they squeeze the new batter, keep them on strike? Get the run rate to more than one a ball and put the pressure back on them. It's last chance territory for Welsh Fire now.
WICKET
Luff c Beaumont b Nicholas 12 (Spirit 100-2)
And she's thrown it away.
Luff, looking for another boundary, runs down the wicket looking to clear mid off but it comes off the splice.
Easy catch for the skipper at extra cover.
Spirit 100-1
Target 120
My my, it's suddenly raining boundaries.
Luff skips down the track and picks one up off her pads. There was no stopping it after it beat backward square leg.
Spirit 96-1
Target 120
Bowling short and wide outside off stump isn't any better either.
Mooney leans back and carves that through point for four.
Spirit 91-1
Target 120
Filer fires one into Mooney's pads and she's too good not to put that away.
It gets flicked past square leg for four. Been a while since the last boundary hadn't it?
Spirit 86-1
Target 120
That's a good set from Alex Hartley but unfortunately, it's at that stage where the Fire need a lot more than just 'good'.
Maybe a hat-trick will do the trick.

What's your opinion on these strategic timeouts? They've just taken one.
A distinct feature of them that you might not know is that the coaches are allowed to come out there and have a word with their players.
Quite strategic indeed.
Spirit 82-1
Target 120
There's no pressure whatsoever on Spirit's batters. Runs are flowing easily and they can afford to take all the time they want.
Just 38 needed now off 40 balls.

Mooney is difficult to bowl at because her movements in the crease are so subtle but it allows her to work the gaps in the field so well.
She frustrates you so much as a captain playing against her.

Brilliant from Beth Mooney again, she's showing how well she knows the ground and the slope by working the angles so perfectly.
Spirit 78-1
Target 120
Nothing to worry for the Spirit. Beth Mooney is still out there and she's striking them well.
First she gets inside the line to scoop one over fine leg before creaming the next one through cover with a lovely cover drive.

London Spirit bowler Megan Schutt on BBC Two: "There's still a bit of a way to go but we just wanted to go out and play the way we do, and it's been great to see our openers go out there. It's a shame to lose Gibson there but that's cricket.
"It took me a while to get some wickets here but it's great to get off the mark! It's been a tough campaign but again that's cricket, you've just got to keep going in tournaments like this."

It's not out but you can see that wicket of Gibson has really brought some energy for the Welsh Fire, they're buzzing and up for it.
Not out
No, Luff had just about made her ground at the non-striker's end.
Was a brilliant throw from Alex Hartley at point, scored a direct hit.
Umpire review
Oh the Fire like this, there might be a run out.

Massive wicket to break that opening partnership. They need to do what London Spirit did in their bowling innings and take a few more quickly and really get stuck into that middle order.
