Issy Wong had to try and find boundaries but that was not the right shot to play.
Poor Phoenix are bowled out for just 82 in 94 balls
Spirit field superbly, pulling off two run outs and Dattani & Monaghan completing a relay catch on the boundary
Phoenix reduce Spirit to 26-6 in reply
But Dattani (28*) and Scrivens (26*) combine brilliantly to get their side home with three balls to spare
Defeat means Phoenix miss out on knockouts; Spirit win only their second game

Wong c Gibson b Kerr 3 (Phoenix 64-6)
Issy Wong goes! She gave her self some room before attempting to heave Amelia Kerr into the leg-side, but she perfectly picks out Dani Gibson on the deep mid-wicket boundary.

They will need at least 110 to give themselves any chance here. If they lost the game it completely opens up the table.
Good shot from Eve Jones as she Freya Davies smashes an uppish half-volley through the covers for four.
It was aerial for a moment, but Jones has to take risks at this stage.

The Birmingham Phoenix are in all sorts of trouble here. They have to get a total on board.
Issy Wong is the new batter and clips her first ball two deep square leg for two.
Another slower delivery from Dani Gibson then deceives Wong, who very nearly lobs the ball up to mid-off.
Clever bowling from Gibson as Spirit continue to press home their advantage.

Not the smartest of choices by Elwiss and Phoenix are in a bit of a bother here.
Elwiss c Harman b Gibson 14 (Phoenix 57-5)
Georgia Elwiss goes!
She attempted the pre-mediated ramp shot over the wicketkeeper's head, but Dani Gibson responded by bowling a slower delivery and all Elwiss can do is lob the ball up to Nancy Harman at short third.

Birmingham Phoenix just need a partnership but they can't afford to play too many dot balls here.
Eve Jones is a little unlucky there. She is inches away from a fine a six over long-off, but the ball plugs just short and a Spirit fielder can claw the ball back before it goes over the rope.
That's a lovely pre-mediated paddle shot from Georgia Elwiss, who just guides a full delivery from Charlie Dean around the corner for four runs to bring up the Phoenix 50.
Signs that these two are starting to get going.

She just about threads that needle to play that boundary.
Elwiss 8, E Jones 16
That's just what is needed. Eve Jones plays a perfectly directed straight drive that beats two diving fielders before flying over the rope.

The fielders are really close and they don't want Birmingham Phoenix to score any singles and that's how you build pressure.
Dani Gibson is the new bowler and her first delivery is too full, allowing Georgia Elwiss to clip the ball away for four.
A couple of loose drives from Elwiss follows and she very nearly chops onto her stumps, Gibson looks to be getting a bit of swing into the right-hander.
Eve Jones then looks frustrated as she perfectly picks out the fielder with two cover drives.
Phoenix have limped to 41-4 at the halfway stage.

There could be a crucial partnership here between Elwiss and Jones.
Georgia Elwiss is the new batter to join Eve Jones. A rebuilding job needed from these two.
Megan Schutt returns to bowl her final set and Phoenix look content to just see her off, nudging just two singles. The Australian ends with figures of 2-14 from 20 balls.
Brilliant bowling.

This is disastrous for the Phoenix and that was just poor running from Devine.
Devine run out (Dean) 4 (Phoenix 32-4)
She is run out! What a huge moment that could be.
Devine was at full stretch but fell just short of her ground. It was a good throw by Charlie Dean who picked the right end and Grace Scrivens did the rest.
The Spirit players are jubilant, they know how big that could be.
Phoenix in a bit of a hole.
