  3. Invincibles 41-0published at 25 balls

The end of the powerplay and it's a great start for the Invincibles.

Winfield_Hill is still strecthing her back but it didn't stop her smashing that six, while Bates already looks well set.

Wow! What a pick up that is.

  5. 6 runs

    Invincibles 38-0published at 24 balls

Back issue? What back issue!? Lauren Winfield-Hill picks up a full delivery from Cross and middles it, high over deep square leg for the first six of the game.

  6. Invincibles 30-0published at 22 balls

Effortless. It's early days but Suzie Bates looks in brilliant touch so far. She adds another boundary to her tally with a lofted on-drive that bounces just once before crossing the boundary.

A lovely shot from the stand-in Invincibles skipper.

Manchester Original's Ellie Threlkeld on the player mic: "If we can try and restrict Oval Invincibles to a small total I think we'll be pleased.

"We spoke about doing the first half really well and then going from there. The number one job is to win the game."

  8. Invincibles 24-0published at 20 balls

Just two singles from the last three of that Ecclestone set and Winfield-Hill is still not looking entirely at ease running between the wickets.

  9. Postpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 31 August 2022

We've got a delay now, though. Lauren Winfield-Hill looks in real discomfort and Originals wicketkeeper Ellie Threlkeld, speaking on player mic, says it looks like a back problem.

Winfield-Hill is going to continue for the time being.

  10. Invincibles 22-0published at 17 balls

Superb from Bates, advancing double the track to Ecclestone and hitting back down the ground, all along the turf, past the diving mid-on fielder for four.

It's a used pitch so it might be on the slower side but it's probably the best of a bad situation.

  12. Invincibles 18-0published at 15 balls

A strong sweep from Suzie Bates ends a good set for the visitors, 10 runs from Emma Lamb's first set.

The Originals are sticking with spin, though, Sophie Ecclestone is coming on to bowl the next five.

  13. Superchargers men 17-0published at 10 balls

Northern Superchargers' Adam Lyth is not messing about at Headingley.

He flicks Southern Brave's Michael Hogan over the leg side for a huge six to move on to 10 off five.

Could we see some big scores today with the pressure off?

  14. Invincibles 8-0published at 10 balls

Left-arm spinner Hannah Jones bowls the second five for the Originals and after a decent first couple of balls, Winfield-Hill shimmies down the pitch and thumps the ball down the ground for the first boundary of the innings.

Lovely shot. Hit with real conviction by the Invincibles opener.

  15. Invincibles 1-0published at 5 balls

Really good start from Kate Cross, just one run from her first five balls.

Even that was a little risky as Winfield-Hill hit on the up towards mid-off and was relieved to see the ball bounce just short of the fielder.

  16. Invincibles 0-0published at 1 ball

Steady start with Cross on the money and Winfield-Hill content to get forward and defend.

Right then. The teams are out. Lauren Winfield-Hill is ready to face the first ball of the match, Kate Cross to bowl.

  18. Key battle: World number one v England's rising starpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 31 August 2022

Sophie Ecclestone is the world's number one bowler in Twenty20 and one-day international cricket and the leader of the Manchester Originals attack.

The left-arm spinner has taken seven wickets in The Hundred this year, keeps the runs down and can also chip in with the bat. Her strike-rate is an impressive 155.

Meanwhile, Alice Capsey is the rising star of English cricket.

The 18-year-old announced herself in last year's Hundred and has gone on to achieve international honours.

Runs and wickets have continued this summer for the Oval Invincibles. Can she lead her side into the final again today?

The equation is simple for the Manchester Originals.

Win big and they'll leapfrog Trent Rockets into third on net run-rate and reach the knockout stages.

    Lose and they're out.

The Oval Invincibles can still top the standings and advance straight to the knockouts after the Southern Brave slipped up at the Northern Superchargers earlier today.

They need a big win to hope they can over turn the Brave's hefty net run-rate.

  20. Brave men win toss and choose to bowlpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 31 August 2022

Southern Brave men have won the toss and chosen to bowl first

Brave captain James Vince speaking to Sky Sports:

"It looks a decent wicket, the games we have won we've all been chasing. We're still playing for pride and hopefully we put on a good show."

Northern Superchargers captain Faf du Plessis speaking to Sky Sports:

"It's not the worst thing to be batting first in a day game. It's been a campaign of very small margins. We've missed out on very small moments that have cost us. The crowd has been super loyal so hopefully we can send them off with a win."
