South Africa captain Sune Luus to Sky Sports at the toss: "We wanted to have a bowl anyway. It's a good wicket and will just look to restrict the English.

"We have Shabnim Ismail back fit and ready to play in place of Tumi Sekhukhune.

"If you look at the top five batters we just lacked intent up front and when Chloe Tryon came in she showed what intent can do. And with our bowling we just need to hit our straps and back our game plan.

"That's what we will look to do today. Staying in our bubble and a positive mindset"

Meanwhile, South Africa have announced their squad for the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

The sad news is that Dane van Niekerk has not recovered from her injury in time to be able to make the squad, so that is a huge loss for the South Africans.

Lauren Bell, speaking to Sky Sports: "My Mum took the day off school to come and see me today. I like to think I can bring something new with swinging the ball away, and follow in Anya's footsteps."

Issy Wong:"It's cool to think we could follow in the footsteps of Katherine (Brunt) and Anya (Shrubsole). If we have half as good a career as those two, we'll do well.

"I feel like I can bring pace to the side. Me and Bell are different kinds of bowlers."

Issy Wong and Lauren Bell are two of England's most exciting young seamers, and impressed in the recent Test match.

Wong is quick, aggressive and fiery and is seen as the perfect successor for Katherine Brunt. Batting-wise, she can also absolutely whack it.

Bell is tall and swings the ball in dramatically, a perfect successor for Anya Shrusbole. So together, I suspect they will make a formidable duo for England for years to come.

England captain Heather Knight to Sky Sports at the toss: "I think it will be an alright surface and potentially start to spin at the end of the game so we want to get out there and put some runs on the board.

"Katherine and Kate are going to miss out, rested. It gives us a chance to have a look at Isobel and Belly who make their debuts today.

"It's a bit windy, I didn't expect it to be like that. But back to normal English conditions. I will be nice not to need a drink every five minutes.

"It's a lovely ground to play cricket, it is one of my favourite places to play so hopefully we can go out and put on an entertaining performance for everyone."

Heather Knight calls correctly and opts to bat first here in Bristol.

They chased South Africa's 218 with 17.5 overs to spare on Monday so they'll be confident of chasing a big total.

Good afternoon! I wonder how many times we'll say 'it's a bit hot' today.

Anyway, time for the second ODI. England thrashed South Africa by five wickets in the first at Northampton on Monday.

Can they make it 2-0 or will the visitors bounce back?
