England's Kate Cross, speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm only seven days or so clear from Covid so that's why I'm rested today. I'd gone two and a half years without catching it. People said to me that I mustn't have many friends if I've gone that long without it."

  3. England 196-2published at 35 overs

Lovely shot from Nat Sciver as she sweeps Nonkululeko Mlaba away through square leg for four.

Mlaba ends the over with an inviting full toss outside off stump that Sophia Dunkley smashes through extra cover for another boundary.

Seems like England have been watchful for a few overs but are now ready to step things up.

Dunkley has decided to cut loose here. It seems like a bit of a statement of intent.

  6. Eng 185-2published at 34 overs

Ah, England finally come back to life!

We have not had a boundary for 12 overs but Sophia Dunkley has just smashed Ayabonga Khaka for back-to-back fours.

    London buses and all that....

  7. Eng 173-2published at 33 overs

Change of bowling as Nonkululeko Mlaba returns. It is all more of the same though, with six runs off the over.

The physio is back out to check on Sophia Dunkley, who was struck on the helmet a few overs ago. She is fine to continue though.

  8. Eng 167-2published at 32 overs

There was a bit of confusion as no South Africa bowler stepped up to bowl the 32nd over. Ayabonga Khaka eventually picks up the ball for her fifth over.

It is feels very easy for England as they keep nudging the ball into a big gap in the on-side for ones and twos.

Sophia Dunkley is fine to continue but she is at the non-striker's end as Shabnim Ismail bangs another one into the pitch.

This game needs something to happen! England see Ismail as a threat. They don't want to lose a wicket to her now.

  13. Eng 157-2published at 30.3 overs

Shabnim Ismail looks to tempt Sophia Dunkley with a bit of short stuff.

Dunkley eventually bites with a pull that glances off her helmet and flies down to fine leg for a single.

As it hit the helmet the England physio comes out to check Dunkley is OK. The umpires use the break to call drinks.

  15. Eng 156-2published at 30 overs

Chloe Tryon really races through her over as England pick off the ones and twos.

The game has entered a little bit of a lull. It is quiet and everyone is watching those middle overs go through.

  17. Eng 151-2published at 29 overs

Fresh from taking that catch Shabnim Ismail is back into the attack for her sixth over.

It is a good return too, with just the two singles off it. The two new England batters making a watchful start to their innings.

It was a tame shot from Beaumont. She didn't quite get the elevation she needed. That was a build-up of the run-rate and the slow play.
