Katherine Brunt, Nat Sciver and Sophie Ecclestone, with all their experience and caps between them, have just had a race off the pitch.

  3. SA 109-3published at 20 overs

    Target 372

Marizanne Kapp is in and can score very quickly but can she go at nearly nine an over for 30 overs? That is equation for South Africa after Lamb's successful over.

It looked like it just skidded on down the hill and Sune Luus wasn't quick enough on to it.

A fine series for Emma Lamb, she's made herself right at home in this England team.

Sune Luus was trying to make some room to heave it in to the leg side but is cleaned up.

Hugs and cheers all round for Emma Lamb's first international wicket.

    Luus b Lamb 9 (SA 107-3)

A first ODI wicket for Emma Lamb! This is some series she is having!

Luus went back, the ball skidded on, she missed and Lamb hit off stump.

It was struck very hard from a full toss. Maybe it just bounced short of Issy Wong.

  8. SA 105-2published at 19 overs

    Target 372

Is that a chance? Goodall hits towards Wong at mid-on, the fielder dives forward but I think it just dropped short of her. It then sneaks through and South Africa run two.

    Another good over from Dean.

  9. Postpublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

South Africa had started so well and that was largely down to Laura Wolvaardt, who raced to a half-century before falling to Charlie Dean for the third time in this ODI series.

    A big wicket for England.

  10. SA 101-2published at 18 overs

    Goodall 19, Luus 7

This is a bit more like it from South Africa.

After Luus pulls a drag-down from Lamb away for four, Goodall adds another boundary with a sweetly-timed reverse sweep.

  11. SA 91-2published at 17 overs

Good again from Dean. Goodall is struggling to get her away and South Africa are suddenly going nowhere.

Of the three runs from the over, two are leg-side wides and the second one looked very harsh as Goodall got inside the line to try a paddle-sweep.

Every over that goes for less than six is a win for England now.

  13. SA 88-2published at 16 overs

    Target 372

A very tidy start from Lamb, just a pair of singles from the over.

And I think we're all hoping Alex is wrong about South Africa's approach for the rest if innings!

    Alex Hartley

I've got a horrible feeling that South Africa are just going to crawl their way through 50 overs now.

The big-hitting Wolvaardt is gone, there's Marizanne Kapp to come but with the spin at both ends I think we're in for a very stale passage of play.

  15. Postpublished at 19:20 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

We're going to see a bit more off-spin. Here comes Emma Lamb.

What England have done so well throughout the series is just keep chipping away with regular wickets. It's something that South Africa haven't been able to manage at all.

  17. SA 86-2published at 15 overs

    Target 372

A dot ball to finish another wicket-taking over from Charlie Dean. Skipper Sune Luus (a-ha) joins Goodall at the crease for the tourists.

  18. Postpublished at 19:16 British Summer Time 18 July 2022

Wolvaardt has gone now but while the players take another drinks break, let's time a moment to appreciate that innings from the South Africa batter. The shot to get her to 50 was quite something as well.

That is a huge wicket. There's no wonder Wolvaardt hasn't reviewed it because it is plumb.

She batted so, so well, you can't take that away from her.
