Tammy Beaumont and Emma Lamb are readying themselves in the middle for England.

Jhulan Goswami has the new ball in hand.

Can England get anywhere close to chasing these runs down? If they do this will be a lot of fun! Strap in, folks...

  4. England need 334 to winpublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 21 September 2022

So here we are. England need a record-breaking effort to win and level the series at 1-1. To make things even more difficult there's no Heather Knight and no Nat Sciver.

The perfect chance for someone to become a heroine, then...

There was no stopping Harmanpreet Kaur, though. There were plenty of fine shots on the way to bringing up her century from 100 balls.

However, the shackles really came off after that. From 100 from 100, Kaur ended unbeaten on 143 from 111 balls as she demolished the England bowling attack...

That was not quite how it panned out though as Harleen Deol joined Harmanpreet Kaur in the middle and proceeded to hit a fine half-century.

Deol was eventually dismissed by Lauren Bell for 58 as a fourth-wicket stand of 113 came to an end.

India were barely affected by that early wicket with Yastika Bhatia and, in particular, Smriti Mandhana batting fluently as the tourists dominated the powerplay.

However, when Mandhana was trapped lbw by Sophie Ecclestone for 40, India were three and England looked to have an opening...

Perhaps we should have seen this onslaught coming when Shafali Verma thumped two boundaries from the first over of the innings.

The India opener did fall in the next, though, as Kate Cross bowled her. A wicket on her 50th ODI appearance for the England seamer.

Harleen Deol speaking on Sky Sports: "Kaur is really outstanding and she is already great and is just getting greater.

"When we're bowling we will just think about mixing up pace. That would be an ideal thing to do. We have different plans for every batters."

The run map shows Harmanpreet Kaur scored 143 with 4 sixes, 18 fours, 6 twos, and 35 singles for India Women

    Thanks, Joe.

That was something pretty special from Harmanpreet Kaur. After playing in such a controlled manner for much of the innings, reaching her century from exactly 100 balls, she exploded in the last few overs.

It was ruthless hitting and England had no answer. Do the hosts have it in them to chase down 334?

All you can do is think about that innings from Harmanpreet Kaur. It is a pleasure to have witnessed it live at the ground. What an innings from the India captain.

It's been a batting masterclass from Harmanpreet Kaur. But somehow we've ended the innings with a dot ball! Of all the things I did not expect that to tick off my bingo card.

    England weren't great.
